421 15) PORT SIDE ANCHOR WINDLASS HYDRAULIC MOTOR


Access pipes in way of port side anchor windlass hydraulic motor were
removed for access of hydraulic motor overhauling. Foundation bolts
were removed and hydraulic motor extracted from the casing and brought
in the workshop. Detached the pinion gear in the main shaft and motor
cover with seal was removed. Parts thoroughly cleaned prior for re
installation. Renewed shaft seal, speedi sleeve 95 mm diameter, o rings,
bolts and nuts using yard supplied materials. Re assemble port side
hydraulic motor in good order delivered on board and re installed in good
order. Testing of port side anchor windlass hydraulic motor carried out
accepted by chief officer. 1 set

422 DECK CRANE # 3 HYDRAULIC MOTOR OVERHAULING


Brought one (1) unit deck crane # 3 hydraulic motor in the workshop
including spares on board prior for overhauling. Opened both side cover
extracted the both end assembly and shaft drawn out from the casing. All
parts thoroughly cleaned inspected and accepted by attending
superintendent (attending superintendent instructed yard to re closed the
said hydraulic motor of deck crane # 3 without renewing of any parts).
Re assembled the hydraulic motor of deck crane # 3 with existing parts,
delivered on board and handed to chief officer and attending
superintendent.

423 13) HYDRAULIC PUMP POWER PACK WORKS


One (1) piece hydraulic power pack valve was removed for renewal of o
ring and valve.
Cleaned the mating surfaces of both ends renewed the power pack valve
using owner supplied valves and yard supplied o ring. Testing of forward
hydraulic system carried out in the presence of attending superintendent
and chief officer accepted satisfactorily. 1 job

1. Ship electrician has been reported about 220 VAC, 60 Hz was low
insulation resistance. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked and
troubleshooting. It was started on Main 220 VAC power distribution
panel which it was read low insulation.
2. On circuit breaker which are supplied 220 VAC, 3 phase and single
phase were switch “OFF” on one by one (Go/ No go method).
3. All main circuit breaker themselves were good condition (megger test
passed), then goes further to each 220 VAC distribution panels.
3.1 The 220 VAC No.1, Navigation Distribution panel are good
condition.
3.2 On deck lighting Distribution panel has some problem or circuit No.6
(Ground Fault).
3.3 Bilge alarm system (15 PPM) was normal condition.
4. The circuit No.6 for Deck lighting must be continued to check and find
out the root cause of low insulation. 1 job
Remark : The Deck lighting Distribution panel still problem on circuit
No.6 However shipyard will try to find out which load item is not good
condition.

2. The Automatic mode was checked and inspected and found the low
voltage power Supply +24 V, 15 Amp out of order.

582 THE BILGE ALARM CHECKING AND TROUBLE SHOOTING.


Scopes of work are as follow.
1. The bilge alarm monitoring was inspected and checked. As found the
Bilge sensor in Duct keel were shown abnormal which were lit all of
them.
2. The sensor No.1 ~ No.10 which are installed in Duct Keel channel.
Those sensors were isolated for monitoring unit to be checked. The bilge
monitor control panel was normal condition.
3. Further checking of bilge sensors and their cables which are flooding.
They cannot be tested and checked.
4. We are not sure those sensors or cables which are the problem. The
cables may be damaged or sensor was damaged or both sensors and
cables damaged.
5. In Duct keel must be dried and provided ventilation otherwise cannot
be done. Due to water flooding shipyard needs more time to checked and
rectification in next Dry docking.

583 CHECKING AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF WATER INGRESS


ALARM SYSTEM.
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Lock out – Tag out was processed to protect electric shock.
2. The water ingress control panel was inspected and checked then found
it was not working. Further checking of Bulksefe motherboard and found
some setting was not corrected position (wrong setting devices).
3. Continued to check of alarm/override push button which was not
working
4. It was also.
done new jumper at corrected setting. Then further testing of
control panel again which it was normal worked.
5. Continued to test of MMS 900 as water level switches (totally 17
locations). As found some location was worked but the others location
out of order.

6. The location of level switches are worked 10 locations but the 7


location were not worked.
7. The others 7 location which are out of ordered those must be checked
and repaired. They were repaired by proper cleaning which correctly
setting.
8. Finally the water ingress system was normal working.

Remark : As found the filter elements and some of MMS 900 water level
switches must be renewed.

584 TROUBLESHOOTING AND CHECKING OF 440 VAC POWER


DISTRIBUTION PANEL.
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electrical engineer were on boarded the vessel. As found ship
power generator was operated only generator No.2 but the others
generator No.1 and No.3 cannot be operated (under repairing by owner
subcontractor).
2. The 440 VAC circuit breakers were in “OFF” position, then started to
measure of Insulation resistance which was read only 2 Meg ohm.
3. The main switchboard was cleaned (MSB was cleaning).
4. After main switchboard was completed of cleaning then continued to
check of insulation resistance again.
5. Finally, the 440 VAC power distribution panel for insulation resistance
reading going up to 5 Meg Ohm. Reported to ship owner for Megger test
result. 1 Job
Remark : Due to generator No.1 and No.3 which are in under repaired.
They are unknown condition then ship electrician must be checked and
measured as ship goes to sea trial.

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked the +24 VDC power
distribution which was shown low insulation resistance.
2. All of +24 VDC circuit breaker were “OFF” position. Then tracking
for go / no go troubleshooting of each +24 VDC systems.
3. +24 VDC systems were checked and measured, they are normal
condition excepted in ECR which are not shown in the drawing.
4. Finally, as found the insulation resistance meter (Maker : SFAIF 0~5
MΩ) out of order. It is needed to renew but on board no have spare part.

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electronic engineer have been checked the machinery oil mist
detectors (7 units). On control board was shown detector Isolated but the
others function are normal condition.
2. All of those oil mist detectors were checked and found on sensor No.7
was out of order. However the others 6 units which are cleaned and
adjusted. They are good working but the No.7 was damaged then it is
needed to renew on next port because of inboard not have any spare part. 1 L/S
Commented : Ship owner must be ordered one unit of oil mist detector

587 3.2 FIRE ALARM IN ACCOMMODATION AND IN CARGO HOLD


SYSTEM CHECKING AND REPAIRING
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Fire alarm detection in accommodation were checked and repaired, are
as follow.
1.1 The fire alarm control panel was checked and found it was out of
ordered.
1.2 System was continued to checked the interface control panel. It was
found the +24 VDC. Q’ty 2 modules out of ordered. Further checking of
12 VDC, 7 Ah. battery which was dead also.
1.3 The new power supply modules (2 units) and battery were renewed
by shipyard spare parts.
1.4 After those spare parts were replaced then the display unit was
normal working.
1.5 Continued to check on each loop sensor and found the loop 1 was not
working. System was still shown alarms which are contained 26 sensor
detector.
1.6 Further to check and repair loop 1 by ship spare parts. Finally loop 1
was normal worked.
1.7 Finally, all system sensors were checked and tested which are good
working.

2. The cargo hold smoke detection system were checked and
troubleshooting.
2.1 The cargo hold smoke detection panel was checked which was 5 line
contained. As found loop 1 was normal condition but the other 4 loops
(loop 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7) were shown fault.
2.2 All the smoke sensors and their cables were cleaned and inspected.
However, those sensors are not yet operated.
2.3 The control board for each sensors were cleaned and adjusted but the
system fault still lit and Fault problem.
2.4 Shipyard to be informed the ship owner to order the smoke detector
P/N XP95IS totally 4 units even the manual call point SDS48 Q’ty 48
units.
2.5 Due to shortage of spare part then cannot be further more checked.
However in next port, as per spare part are available then to be continued
to carry on repairing again.

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electronic engineer have been checked and tested of ship
public address system. As found, the system was out of ordered such as
1.1 All zone of system are not worked.
1.2 On control panel was shown “emergency power Failcere”
1.3 The Amplifier No.2 (KPA-A250) cannot power “ON” (lamp show
indicator was not lit).
2. The emergency power supply cable was checked and tested then found
it was unconnected. (Open circuit).
3. Power cable 220 VAC was reconnected to the system. Then system
alarm was become normal.
4. Regarding to Amplifier No.2 which was not worked then taken to
electrical workshop for repairing. The damaged of electronic components
were renewed by shipyard spare part.

5. Finally the ship public address system was tested which it was normal
working witnessed by ship crew.

in the workshop. Detached the pinion gear in the main shaft and motor
cover with seal was removed. Parts thoroughly cleaned prior for re
installation. Renewed shaft seal, speedi sleeve 95 mm diameter, o rings,
bolts and nuts using yard supplied materials. Re assemble port side
hydraulic motor in good order delivered on board and re installed in good
order. Testing of port side anchor windlass hydraulic motor carried out

Brought one (1) unit deck crane # 3 hydraulic motor in the workshop

extracted the both end assembly and shaft drawn out from the casing. All
parts thoroughly cleaned inspected and accepted by attending
superintendent (attending superintendent instructed yard to re closed the
said hydraulic motor of deck crane # 3 without renewing of any parts).
Re assembled the hydraulic motor of deck crane # 3 with existing parts,

1. Ship electrician has been reported about 220 VAC, 60 Hz was low
insulation resistance. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked and
troubleshooting. It was started on Main 220 VAC power distribution
panel which it was read low insulation.
2. On circuit breaker which are supplied 220 VAC, 3 phase and single
phase were switch “OFF” on one by one (Go/ No go method).
3. All main circuit breaker themselves were good condition (megger test
passed), then goes further to each 220 VAC distribution panels.
3.1 The 220 VAC No.1, Navigation Distribution panel are good
condition.
3.2 On deck lighting Distribution panel has some problem or circuit No.6
(Ground Fault).
3.3 Bilge alarm system (15 PPM) was normal condition.
4. The circuit No.6 for Deck lighting must be continued to check and find
out the root cause of low insulation. 1 job
Remark : The Deck lighting Distribution panel still problem on circuit
No.6 However shipyard will try to find out which load item is not good

582 THE BILGE ALARM CHECKING AND TROUBLE SHOOTING.


Scopes of work are as follow.
1. The bilge alarm monitoring was inspected and checked. As found the
Bilge sensor in Duct keel were shown abnormal which were lit all of
them.
2. The sensor No.1 ~ No.10 which are installed in Duct Keel channel.
Those sensors were isolated for monitoring unit to be checked. The bilge
monitor control panel was normal condition.
3. Further checking of bilge sensors and their cables which are flooding.
They cannot be tested and checked.
4. We are not sure those sensors or cables which are the problem. The
cables may be damaged or sensor was damaged or both sensors and
cables damaged.
5. In Duct keel must be dried and provided ventilation otherwise cannot
be done. Due to water flooding shipyard needs more time to checked and
rectification in next Dry docking.

583 CHECKING AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF WATER INGRESS


ALARM SYSTEM.
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Lock out – Tag out was processed to protect electric shock.
2. The water ingress control panel was inspected and checked then found
it was not working. Further checking of Bulksefe motherboard and found
some setting was not corrected position (wrong setting devices).
3. Continued to check of alarm/override push button which was not
working
4. It was also.
done new jumper at corrected setting. Then further testing of
control panel again which it was normal worked.
5. Continued to test of MMS 900 as water level switches (totally 17
locations). As found some location was worked but the others location
out of order.

6. The location of level switches are worked 10 locations but the 7


location were not worked.
7. The others 7 location which are out of ordered those must be checked
and repaired. They were repaired by proper cleaning which correctly
setting.
8. Finally the water ingress system was normal working.

Remark : As found the filter elements and some of MMS 900 water level
switches must be renewed.

584 TROUBLESHOOTING AND CHECKING OF 440 VAC POWER


DISTRIBUTION PANEL.
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electrical engineer were on boarded the vessel. As found ship
power generator was operated only generator No.2 but the others
generator No.1 and No.3 cannot be operated (under repairing by owner
subcontractor).
2. The 440 VAC circuit breakers were in “OFF” position, then started to
measure of Insulation resistance which was read only 2 Meg ohm.
3. The main switchboard was cleaned (MSB was cleaning).
4. After main switchboard was completed of cleaning then continued to
check of insulation resistance again.
5. Finally, the 440 VAC power distribution panel for insulation resistance
reading going up to 5 Meg Ohm. Reported to ship owner for Megger test
result. 1 Job
Remark : Due to generator No.1 and No.3 which are in under repaired.
They are unknown condition then ship electrician must be checked and
measured as ship goes to sea trial.

1. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked the +24 VDC power
distribution which was shown low insulation resistance.
2. All of +24 VDC circuit breaker were “OFF” position. Then tracking
for go / no go troubleshooting of each +24 VDC systems.
3. +24 VDC systems were checked and measured, they are normal
condition excepted in ECR which are not shown in the drawing.
4. Finally, as found the insulation resistance meter (Maker : SFAIF 0~5
MΩ) out of order. It is needed to renew but on board no have spare part.

1. Shipyard electronic engineer have been checked the machinery oil mist
detectors (7 units). On control board was shown detector Isolated but the
others function are normal condition.
2. All of those oil mist detectors were checked and found on sensor No.7
was out of order. However the others 6 units which are cleaned and
adjusted. They are good working but the No.7 was damaged then it is
needed to renew on next port because of inboard not have any spare part. 1 L/S

587 3.2 FIRE ALARM IN ACCOMMODATION AND IN CARGO HOLD


SYSTEM CHECKING AND REPAIRING
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Fire alarm detection in accommodation were checked and repaired, are
as follow.
1.1 The fire alarm control panel was checked and found it was out of
ordered.
1.2 System was continued to checked the interface control panel. It was
found the +24 VDC. Q’ty 2 modules out of ordered. Further checking of
12 VDC, 7 Ah. battery which was dead also.
1.3 The new power supply modules (2 units) and battery were renewed
by shipyard spare parts.
1.4 After those spare parts were replaced then the display unit was
normal working.
1.5 Continued to check on each loop sensor and found the loop 1 was not
working. System was still shown alarms which are contained 26 sensor
detector.
1.6 Further to check and repair loop 1 by ship spare parts. Finally loop 1
was normal worked.
1.7 Finally, all system sensors were checked and tested which are good
working.

2. The cargo hold smoke detection system were checked and
troubleshooting.
2.1 The cargo hold smoke detection panel was checked which was 5 line
contained. As found loop 1 was normal condition but the other 4 loops

2.2 All the smoke sensors and their cables were cleaned and inspected.
However, those sensors are not yet operated.
2.3 The control board for each sensors were cleaned and adjusted but the
system fault still lit and Fault problem.
2.4 Shipyard to be informed the ship owner to order the smoke detector
P/N XP95IS totally 4 units even the manual call point SDS48 Q’ty 48
units.
2.5 Due to shortage of spare part then cannot be further more checked.
However in next port, as per spare part are available then to be continued
to carry on repairing again.

1.2 On control panel was shown “emergency power Failcere”
1.3 The Amplifier No.2 (KPA-A250) cannot power “ON” (lamp show
indicator was not lit).
2. The emergency power supply cable was checked and tested then found
it was unconnected. (Open circuit).
3. Power cable 220 VAC was reconnected to the system. Then system
alarm was become normal.
4. Regarding to Amplifier No.2 which was not worked then taken to
electrical workshop for repairing. The damaged of electronic components
were renewed by shipyard spare part.

5. Finally the ship public address system was tested which it was normal
working witnessed by ship crew.

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Lock out – Tag out was posted for electrical safety regulation.
2. The electric control boxes of both units are poor condition, then they are needed
to renew.
3. All of electric cables inside each control panels (around 18 lengths) were
disconnected with proper marking.
4. Existing control panels units were removed by loosen nuts and bolts.
5. New provision crane electrical control boxes were installed and then those
electric cables were reconnected due to original wiring connection.
6. After completed of control panel installation, then systems were tested which
they are good working.

342 F.19 AUXILIARY ENGINE # 3 O/H (SXD-MAN B&W 5L16/24)


Opened all inlet and outlet valve assembly with special tools. Cleaning of existing
valve and seat carried out on auxiliary engine # 3.

Cleaned the burning side and all mating surfaces of the cylinder head by power
brush on both engines. Attending superintendent instructed to renew all five (5)
units cylinder head with new valve seat, valve guide and valve spindle exhaust and
inlet assembly. Lapping of new valve seat and valve guide carried out inspected and
accepted by chief engineer. Re assembled engine cylinder head inlet and outlet
valve in good order. Renewed valve stem shaft seal using owner supplied materials.
Rocker arm rollers and push rod were renewed using owner supplied materials.

AUXILAIRY ENGINE # 3 PISTON WITHDRAWAL AND OVERHAUL


Removed and drawn auxiliary engine # 3 piston crowns and connecting rods
lowered down in engine room flat form. Removed auxiliary engine piston crown
pins and overhauled the connecting rods and piston crowns. Auxiliary engine piston
rods and crowns assembly were thoroughly cleaned, accepted by chief engineer and
attending superintendent. Conducted nondestructive test (dye checked) on the
burning side of piston crowns. Calibration of piston, bore diameter, crankshaft
ovality, piston diameter, piston ring clearance and pin carried out, all parameters
were recorded and submitted to attending chief engineer. Re assembled both
auxiliary engine piston rod and piston crown connecting pin secured and locked.

AUXILAIRY ENGINE CONNECTING ROD/CRANK PIN BEARING/BOLTS

nondestructive test carried out witnessed and accepted by chief engineer and
attending superintendent. Re assembled auxiliary engine # 3 crank pin bearing with
and without bearing then calibration carried out all parameters were recorded and
submitted to attending superintendent. Dismantled auxiliary engine # 3 crank pin
bearings after calibration prior for re-installation.
Note: Re used all connecting rod crank pin bearing shells as instructed by chief
engineer.
AUXILIARY ENGINE LINER AND JACKET COOLING
REMOVAL/CLEANING/CALIBRATION
Cleaned auxiliary engine # 3 cylinder liners, carbon deposit were removed. Sat
special tools on auxiliary engine # 3 cylinder liners, removed five (5) pieces liners,
shifted and lower down in engine room flat form. Cleaned engine casing and liners
(inside and outside) inspected and accepted by attending superintendent and chief
engineer.
Note: Renewed engine liner # 4 using owner supplied materials as instructed.
Calibration of auxiliary engine # 3 liners bore diameter carried out all parameters
were recorded and submitted to attending chief engineer. Auxiliary engine # 3 liner
jacket cooling piece were remove five (5) sets cleaned all the mating surface and o
ring casing. Renewed o ing using owner supplied materials. Re installed auxiliary
engine # 3 liners and liner jacket cooling piece in good order with new o rings.

Auxiliary engine # 3 piston and cylinder head were assembled in good order,
lowered down in respective liner with new space ring and new piston rings using
owner supplied materials. Crank pin bearings of auxiliary engine # 3 were secured
on bearing housing then installed on auxiliary engine crankshaft. Secured
connecting rods with existing crank pin bearings and connecting rod bolts follow
tightening torque and procedures.
Auxiliary engine cylinder head lowered down to position and secured followed
engine work instruction manual.
Auxiliary engine # 3 cylinder head rocker arms, injectors and access pipes re
installed and locked (followed tightening torque as stated in engine manual).
Re checked, adjusted and confirmed valve exhaust and inlet clearance as stated on
instruction manual.
Cooling fresh water, lube oil and fuel system check, running test with and without
load carried out on auxiliary engine # 3 accepted by attending superintendent and
chief engineer.
AUXILIARY ENGINE CRANK CASE CLEANING
Bailed out remaining dirty oil inside auxiliary engine # 3 crankcase, wiped dry
engine crankcase and thoroughly cleaned inspected and accepted by chief engineer.
Re closed auxiliary engine crankcase door in good order.
AUXILIARY ENGINE OPERATIONAL TESTING
Operational testing of auxiliary engine # 3 carried out with and without load
opening of casing carried out checked the condition of bearings witnessed and 1 engine unit 7,500.00 20% 6,000.00 Q
accepted by chief engineer.

418 RESECUE BOAT DAVIT WINCH GEAR SURVEY

Opened port and starboard side rescue boat winch top cover, the gear was inspected
and accepted by attending superintendent and class surveyor. Re assembled both
rescue boat winches in good order with new gasket using yard supplied materials.

Tested both winches of rescue boat accepted satisfactorily by chief officer and
attending superintendent and class surveyor.
RESCUE BOAT DAVIT WINCH BRAKE SYSTEM SURVEY
Opened the brake system of port and starboard side rescue boat for inspection.
Cleaned the rescue boat brake system, then inspected by attending superintendent,
surveyor, yard service engineer and chief officer.
Re-installed the brake system of port and starboard side rescue boat in good order,
tested witnessed and accepted by chief officer and attending superintendent.
RESCUE BOAT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Removed the hydraulic system of port and starboard side rescue boat control valve
and valve valves and manual pump brought in the workshop.

Access pipes in way of port side anchor windlass hydraulic motor were removed for

the pinion gear in the main shaft and motor cover with seal was removed. Parts
thoroughly cleaned prior for re installation. Renewed shaft seal, speedi sleeve 95
mm diameter, o rings, bolts and nuts using yard supplied materials. Re assemble
port side hydraulic motor in good order delivered on board and re installed in good

1. Ship electrician has been reported about 220 VAC, 60 Hz was low insulation
resistance. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked and troubleshooting. It was
started on Main 220 VAC power distribution panel which it was read low insulation.

2. On circuit breaker which are supplied 220 VAC, 3 phase and single phase were
switch “OFF” on one by one (Go/ No go method).
3. All main circuit breaker themselves were good condition (megger test passed),
then goes further to each 220 VAC distribution panels.
3.1 The 220 VAC No.1, Navigation Distribution panel are good condition.
3.2 On deck lighting Distribution panel has some problem or circuit No.6
(Ground Fault).
3.3 Bilge alarm system (15 PPM) was normal condition.
4. The circuit No.6 for Deck lighting must be continued to check and find out the

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. The bilge alarm monitoring was inspected and checked. As found the Bilge
sensor in Duct keel were shown abnormal which were lit all of them.
2. The sensor No.1 ~ No.10 which are installed in Duct Keel channel. Those sensors
were isolated for monitoring unit to be checked. The bilge monitor control panel
was normal condition.
3. Further checking of bilge sensors and their cables which are flooding. They
cannot be tested and checked.
4. We are not sure those sensors or cables which are the problem. The cables may be
damaged or sensor was damaged or both sensors and cables damaged.
5. In Duct keel must be dried and provided ventilation otherwise cannot be done.
Due to water flooding shipyard needs more time to checked and rectification in next

2. The water ingress control panel was inspected and checked then found it was not
working. Further checking of Bulksefe motherboard and found some setting was not
corrected position (wrong setting devices).
3. Continued to check of alarm/override push button which was not working also.
4. It was done new jumper at corrected setting. Then further testing of control panel
again which it was normal worked.
5. Continued to test of MMS 900 as water level switches (totally 17 locations). As
found some location was worked but the others location out of order.

6. The location of level switches are worked 10 locations but the 7 location were not
worked.
7. The others 7 location which are out of ordered those must be checked and
repaired. They were repaired by proper cleaning which correctly setting.
8. Finally the water ingress system was normal working.
Remark : As found the filter elements and some of MMS 900 water level switches

584 TROUBLESHOOTING AND CHECKING OF 440 VAC POWER


DISTRIBUTION PANEL.
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electrical engineer were on boarded the vessel. As found ship power
generator was operated only generator No.2 but the others generator No.1 and No.3
cannot be operated (under repairing by owner subcontractor).
2. The 440 VAC circuit breakers were in “OFF” position, then started to measure of
Insulation resistance which was read only 2 Meg ohm.
3. The main switchboard was cleaned (MSB was cleaning).
4. After main switchboard was completed of cleaning then continued to check of
insulation resistance again.
5. Finally, the 440 VAC power distribution panel for insulation resistance reading
going up to 5 Meg Ohm. Reported to ship owner for Megger test result.

585 CHECKING AND TROUBLESHOOTING +24 VDC LOW INSULATION.


Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electrical engineer have checked the +24 VDC power distribution which
was shown low insulation resistance.
2. All of +24 VDC circuit breaker were “OFF” position. Then tracking for go / no
go troubleshooting of each +24 VDC systems.
3. +24 VDC systems were checked and measured, they are normal condition
excepted in ECR which are not shown in the drawing.
4. Finally, as found the insulation resistance meter (Maker : SFAIF 0~5 MΩ) out of
order. It is needed to renew but on board no have spare part. 1 Job 1,200.00 20% 960.00 Add
Remark : Next port, ship owner should be ordered the +24 VDC megger ohm meter

586 3.4 CHECKING AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF OIL MIST DETECTORS.


Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electronic engineer have been checked the machinery oil mist detectors
(7 units). On control board was shown detector Isolated but the others function are
normal condition.
2. All of those oil mist detectors were checked and found on sensor No.7 was out of
order. However the others 6 units which are cleaned and adjusted. They are good
working but the No.7 was damaged then it is needed to renew on next port because

587 3.2 FIRE ALARM IN ACCOMMODATION AND IN CARGO HOLD SYSTEM


CHECKING AND REPAIRING
Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Fire alarm detection in accommodation were checked and repaired, are as follow.
1.1 The fire alarm control panel was checked and found it was out of ordered.
1.2 System was continued to checked the interface control panel. It was found the
+24 VDC. Q’ty 2 modules out of ordered. Further checking of 12 VDC, 7 Ah.
battery which was dead also.
1.3 The new power supply modules (2 units) and battery were renewed by shipyard
spare parts.
1.4 After those spare parts were replaced then the display unit was normal working.
1.5 Continued to check on each loop sensor and found the loop 1 was not working.
System was still shown alarms which are contained 26 sensor detector.

2. The cargo hold smoke detection system were checked and troubleshooting.
2.1 The cargo hold smoke detection panel was checked which was 5 line contained.
As found loop 1 was normal condition but the other 4 loops (loop 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7)
were shown fault.
2.2 All the smoke sensors and their cables were cleaned and inspected. However,
those sensors are not yet operated.
2.3 The control board for each sensors were cleaned and adjusted but the system
fault still lit and Fault problem.
2.4 Shipyard to be informed the ship owner to order the smoke detector P/N XP95IS
totally 4 units even the manual call point SDS48 Q’ty 48 units.
2.5 Due to shortage of spare part then cannot be further more checked. However in
next port, as per spare part are available then to be continued to carry on repairing 1 L/S 1,800.00 20% 1,440.00 Q
again.

Part supplied by yard as follows.


New power supply modules (2 units) and battery were renewed by shipyard spare

Scopes of work are as follow.
1. Shipyard electronic engineer have been checked and tested of ship public address
system. As found, the system was out of ordered such as
1.1 All zone of system are not worked.
1.2 On control panel was shown “emergency power Failcere”
1.3 The Amplifier No.2 (KPA-A250) cannot power “ON” (lamp show indicator was
not lit).
2. The emergency power supply cable was checked and tested then found it was
unconnected. (Open circuit).
3. Power cable 220 VAC was reconnected to the system. Then system alarm was
become normal.
4. Regarding to Amplifier No.2 which was not worked then taken to electrical
workshop for repairing. The damaged of electronic components were renewed by
shipyard spare part.
5. Finally the ship public address system was tested which it was normal working

2. Continued to checked the power source om 220 VAC, this cable was not have
detail, where it is coming from which circuit breaker because of no have the detail
drawing.
3. Further checking of oily water separator by cleaning and using external power
supply to simulate for testing.
4. Finally system was still out of order.
