Appendix I

Staff Responsibilities / Duties

The following personnel have been designated as having the responsibility and
authority as stated on behalf on the Client as well as Contractor.

HOD / EMR : Shall be responsible for overall sustainability policy and


(SDSD) ultimately responsible for the implementation of an effective
Environmental Management System and Environmental
Management Plan at all construction sites

Project Manager : Shall be responsible for the Planning, Control and Manage of the
(SDSD) Environmental Management Systems / Plan at all construction
sites.

Contractor : Shall be responsible for ensuring that Environmental issues at


Project Manager site are handled in an effective way and ensure that at all times
legal and local authority requirements, SDSD guidelines and EMP
requirements are fully understood and are capable of being
achieved. Implement mitigation measures, conduct monitoring
and ensure the workers awareness and competence at sites.

Consultants : Shall be responsible for ensuring that all designs criteria for new
project shall fully meet the Environmental Management Systems
requirements and be responsible for ensuring that the legal
requirements and SDSD environmental guidelines are
implemented and maintained at all construction sites, review test
results and forward to the Project Manager relevant reports for his
onward submission to the authorities.

Site Agent Shall be responsible for ensuring that all designs for
Environmental Management Systems / Plan at site are
implemented in an effective manner and review to fully meet the
environmental requirements.
Be responsible to monitor control and maintain the requirements
of the Environmental Managements Systems / Plan on site
activities affecting the environment and report to the Project
manager on major changes for his review. Carried out in an
effective manner and fully met the environmental requirements.

Project : Shall be responsible for ensuring monitoring that environmental


Supervisor mitigation activities at sites are carried out by the contractor as
required and planned, and ensuring that all these areas are fully
inspected. Other activities affecting the environment shall be
monitored to identify changes form normal to significant impact
and report to the Resident Engineer for review.
