Autobiography

His Decade

My name is Harshil Yerrabelli which means joyful. When I was little I felt embarrassed

about my name because I thought it meant harsh. But when my mom told me in meant happy or

joyful I was proud of my name. I was born on November 23, 2007 in Hartford, CT at Saint

Francis Hospital and I’m 10 years old. One special thing about me is the god my family and I

believe in, Sathya Sai Baba, and his birthday is the same as mine. Another special thing about me

is I have a mole on my left cheek. In my religion when you get married you need a black dot on

your cheek and I don’t need one. For all my life I lived in West Hartford, CT, but for 2 months I

lived in India without my parents. My mom and dad are both from Telangana, India. Their

names are Sangeetha and Dharma My brother was in Portland, Maine on August 24, 2003 at

Maine Medical Center.. My brother is 15 years old attending Conard High School as a

sophomore. His name is Rushil. In pre-school I went to Discovery School in Hartford, CT. It

was a very big school, and I got lost a lot. Kindergarten through third grade I went to Annie

Fisher Stem School at Hartford, CT. It was a magnet school. I liked the teachers a lot, but I

didn’t like my classmates and they weren’t well-behaved. Fourth and Fifth grade I went to

Wolcott Elementary School. So far it’s the best school I’ve ever went to.

Subjects that I enjoy are history, math, and french. I like history because you get to learn about

the past, wars, civilizations, and famous people. Also is history class we have many class

discussions about the topics we are studying. I like math because I understand the concepts easily
and I’m very strong at doing it. Another reason why I like math is, when you show your work it

looks like an art. I like French because I feel we get less homework, I understand it easily, I get

easy quizzes and no tests, and it sounds weird or funny when you speak it. I would like to

improve my pronunciation in French, my test/quiz grade in science, and my writing for english.

Some of my academic goals are to be in high honor roll for effort ,and to only get “ A’s” and “

A-’s”.

Some of my passions are playing soccer, basketball, and the violin. My interests are playing

tennis, the piano, and singing. I like soccer because it goes in a flow and you get to play offense

and defense when you play midfield. I like basketball because the tempo of the game changes a

lot. I also like playing the violin because I like the sound of it and it can make you feel different

feelings. I’m interested in tennis because exciting, very fun, and it’s not a team game. I’m

interested in the piano because you can do a lot of different things with it. I’m interested in

singing because there are a lot of different kinds, feelings, and styles. Some things I do to relax

are reading a book, doing puzzles, and Watching TV or playing video games.

Laughter make me forget about the stressful things. It’s not easy to be happy, especially when

you have a bad day. My brother who is older than me tries to get me in trouble and tries to

embarass me. One time he told my friends that I watched this show for 7 year old, but I didn’t

watch it,and everybody believed him. Some things that make me feel happy are other people

who are happy, playing, and having no work to do or having freetime. One person who make me

happy is my mom. That is, because she cares for me a lot, helps me, and love’s me. One time

when I lost my soccer game in the Finals I was very sad, devastated, and mad. First my mom

calmed me down and we talked about what had happened. Then she said everybody will win
someday and think about what I did wrong. I was still upset, but I continued with my day and felt

normal.

One of my goals in Renbrook Upper School is to fit in and make a lot of friends. Another goal is

be organized and get good grades. Some careers I might enjoy is a professional soccer player,

professional basketball player, engineer, doctor, or information technology. Middle School feels

the same as elementary but with different teachers, study hall, and sports. My name is harshil

Yerrabelli and I can’t wait for the future of Upper School.
