Student Proposal
Write in full sentences, except where specified otherwise. You are not confined to the space
provided; insert text as needed.
Our project idea is to give students positive notes to take stress off of teens and somehow bring
happiness during one of the most stressful times of the year.
Problem/Need
Directions: In the space below, explain the problem are you trying to solve or what need are you trying
to fill. Be sure to explain the population that the problem affects (high school students, dogs, the
disabled, etc.).
During the final stretch of schoo,l high schoolers find themselves stressing over finals, AP exams, grades,
etc. Being high schooler,s we know first hand about the overthinking and the stress we bring upon
ourselves.
Goal
Directions: In the space below, describe your desired outcome.
Our desired outcome would be to affect others beneficially. For example, we might lessen the stress of
one individual because they got a note from someone who cares about them, to provide a laugh, or even
just a smile.
Procedures/Scope of Work
Directions: Describe the steps you will need to take in order to make your project successful. Be specific.
Our original plan was to create a booth during lunch where people could come up and write notes
attached to candy. We would then deliver this to the desired person with hopes of making their day
better. We could charge like 25 cents and donate what money comes out to our topic of choice. We could
also hang up posters advertising our booth and posters that encourage smiles. We ended up not getting
permission by an AP. We decide to have students write their peers positive notes on finals and we
handed them out during finals week.

Budget
Directions: In the chart below, outline the supplies and/or service that you will need for the project, as
well as the cost, if any, of those supplies. If you have a source for donations, include that information, as
well. Insert rows as necessary.
Supplies and/or Services Projected
cost, if any
candy $15
poster boards 42 cents each
Evaluation of success
Directions: Explain how you will know that your project was a success. A survey for participants? A
particular number of hours of volunteering? Photographs or videos of event?
We could take pictures with participants that approve. After at least 30 candies are delivered I definitely
think we will have been successful.

how to.
