WATER RECLAMATION PLANT PHASE 2 CONTRACT €228.-CIVIL & STRUCTURAL, MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL WORKS FOR TRAIN 5 GS G15. 615.2 PAINTING AND PROTECTIVE COATINGS Scope (a) This Section of the Specification covers surface preparation, painting and protective coating requirements for civil and building works, for iron and steelwork, for pipework (excluding cement mortar lining and factory applied bitumen enamel wrapping which are covered in Pipework general specifications) and for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and associated steelwork supplied under this Contract. (b) Actual locations of the surfaces requiring protective coatings are specified in the particular specification or on the drawings. (c)_ Where not otherwise required by the Specification, or by coating manufacturers’ recommendations approved by the S.O., the preparation, painting and protection of surfaces shall be carried out in accordance with the recommendations of BS EN 1SO12944-5, BS EN ISO 12944 Parts 1 to 8, BS EN ISO 14713, BS 6150 or BS ISO 27831 PARTS 1 AND 2.
