Detailed Lesson Plan in The Global Teachers:

Knowledgeable of K to 12 Program of various countries


Inductive Method

I. Objective: After the 45-60 min. the students should be able to:
a) define global teachers;
b) differentiate the various countries which are knowledgeable
of K to 12 Program; and
c) identify the countries which are under the k to 12 Program.

II. Subject Matter:


A. Topic: The Global Teachers: Knowledgeable of K to 12 Program of
Various Countries
B. Reference: Teaching Profession book pg. 70-75 author Lim Lourdes,
manila paper with the lists of differences of various countries about
in the global teachers which is knowledgeable in K to 12 Program.
C. Material: Presentation of the topic using PowerPoint.
D. Integration: Realization

countries but the main topic is: The global
teachers, Knowledgeable of K to 12 Program
of Various Countries that is why I asked of

Teachers: Knowledgeable of K to 12 Program
of Various Countries.

What is the meaning of K to 12 program?


Erickson.
K to 12 Program is a term for the sum of
primary and secondary education. It is used
in countries like U.S.A., Canada, Turkey,
Australia and now here in the Philippines. The
expression is shortening of Kindergarten (K)
for 4-6 years old learners,through twelfth
grade (12) for learners who are 17-19 years
old.

program of Various Countries.

A. Philippines.

In the Philippines, k to 12 programs covers


the kindergarten plus the twelve years (12) in
basic education (6 years in primary
education, 4 years in junior high school and 2
years for the senior high school). The
additional two years in the senior high is aim
to provide sufficient time for mastery of th
concepts and skills to develop lifelong
learning skills and to prepare graduates for
tertiary education, for mid-level skills, for
employment and for entrepreneurship.

country? Geneva. Brunei Darulasam starts with one year
primary education and then 5?6 years of
elementary education. Students take and
should pass the end-of-cycle public
examination before their progress to
diversified secondary level. Secondary level
has 2 categories- General Secindao
Education (2-3 years) and another (2-3years)
of upper secondary education where
students are group according to their
academic abilities, talents, and interests.
In Brunei, students who exce academically l
can take secondary education in 2years.
Preschool in Brunei is a playschool which aim
to impart socio-emotional and personality
development for young learners in an informal
preschool program.

C. Canada. Canada follows to k to 12


educational curriculum with secondary
schooling or high school structure that varies
within a province in terms if inclusion of made
school or junior high.

Elementary school middek grade 1-6 regions


where there are 2 years of middle school or
junior.

Secondary high school with middle school or


junior high school behind in grade 7-12.

How about the next one the KOREA, can you


please read, Melody. In Korea follows the 6-3-3-4 education ladder
which is 6 years of elementary 3 years of
middle school & 3 years of high school and 4
years of either junior college to complete high
education. The middle school curricula are
combination of all basic or required subjects
elective subjects. And extra curricular
activities. Blending of education and
readiness form occupation is reflected in the
technical vocational courses which are
elective subjects. Korean students may
continue to high school defends ipom the
results of High school entrance examination.

Malaysian education begins with restaurant


where the medium of instruction is both
Malaysian and enough.Preschool that use
Tamil or Chinese as medium of instructions

Malaysian has two levels of category for


secondary high school: Lower secondary
(level 2) and Upper secondary (level 3l.
Lower secondary program offers general and
undifferentiated curriculum for 2-3 years.

Education in Singapore begins with


kindergarten or preschool at the age of 4-6
years old. In kindergarten although not
compulsory a 3-4 hours provision of language
development , literary skills and appropriate
of music and movement in being provided to
the young learners.
At secondary level students may either go to
special ( secondary 1-4 years). Normal
(academic-secondary 1-5 years) courses
depending on the measured academic ability

The age of entry to compulsory education in
the U.S various accordingl to the state,
between 5-7 years old with 6 years old being
the most common as an entry age for
kindergarten. Based on the length ,
elementary may be followed or not by number
of years of middle school education which
generally 3yeard (grade 4-5-6-7-8)/
High school (grade 7-12 or grade 8-12) length
program is 6 years depending ilupon the laws
and policies of state and local districts. There
are mandatory subjects in almost all U.S high
school which include science ( biology ,
chemistry physics) mathematics (algebra,
geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics)
English (literature, humanities, composition,
oral language) social science ( history,
government, economics) and Physical
education.

upon completion of 6-12 and diploma covers
a variety of awards for different curricula and
