Legoland Malaysia
1 May 2019
Prepared by: Ahmad Zulhilmi Rosli
1.0 Introduction/ Background

Our team have been appointed by Legoland Malaysia to develop and implement a new
ticketing and attractions admission system according to their organizational strategy for
2020 by improving their theme park’s ticketing and admission system.

2.0 Business Objective

The main objective for this project is to prepare a complete project management
blueprints for the system so that Legoland Malaysia can have a quick walkthrough on
what will happen and changes to be made on their existing ticketing and admission
system. Afterwards, the new ticketing system will be built and implemented.

3.0 Current Situation and Problem/Opportunity Statement

Due to the growth of number of tourists each year, Legoland Malaysia having a
difficulty on the ticketing and admission system when it comes to peak season. The
current system could not withstand such a big number of admissions at that time that
cause the system to be bottlenecked. The new automated system will reduce
significantly the time consumption of the visitors thus; the attractions spots in the park
could be enjoyed at the very optimum level by the visitors.

4.0 Critical Assumption and Constraints

If this project is implemented, the new ticket ticketing system should work at least
better than before, in term of performance and reliability. This new ticketing and
admission system should be able to handle tourists’ admission especially on peak
seasons.

The only constraint that we could found throughout the project is the technical
constrain. The new ticketing system will require new knowledge on how to operate
them properly. This could lead to lack of training, thus cause slowness of the system
due to human error.
5.0 Analysis of Option and Recommendation

Analysis of Option

1. Increase the number of ticket counter to speed up admission

2. Limit ticket purchasing number through counter, and recommends visitor to
purchase online.
3. Upgrade the existing ticketing and admission system to cater much more
number of visitor at one time

Recommendation

We strongly recommends the option 3 to be implemented so that this upgrade could

cater a large number of visitor at least 5 years ahead.

6.0 Preliminary Project Requirements

These are the preliminary requirement for Legoland Malaysia’s ticketing system
upgrade.

1. Provide least two (2) ticketing counter for us to run and test the new ticketing
system before it fully implemented.
2. All computers in admission counter at least running on minimum hardware
configuration as follows:
a. Processor – Intel Core i5 6th generation and above
