Introduction:-
Guided weapons are one of the most important applications of Control system. Some of the
control systems for used for guidance of weapons systems are Polar, Cartesian and roll control;
aerodynamic and thrust vector control; actuation systems; instrumentation; accelerometers;
rate and position gyroscopes; acceleration and velocity control; roll rate and position, latax and
altitude autopilots.
Latest research on guided missiles are discussed here as the technology is enhancing the field
day by day. One of them is laser guided missiles. They follow the given commands form the
control systems to hit the target. Latest research for accurate output give the following ideas:-
A target device is usable with a simulation system which includes a weapon simulator having
a trigger, a chamber for firing a blank cartridge in response to the trigger, and a transmitter
arranged to emit a light signal defining one or more activation codes of prescribed duration in
response to the trigger. The target device includes a sensor array of photodiodes and a processor
receiving output signals from the photodiodes. The processor determines that the sensor array
has been hit by the weapon simulator in response to a first portion of one activation code being
received by one of the photodiodes and at least one second portion of the same activation code
being received by the same or a different one of the photodiodes when the first portion and the
at least one second portion correspond to an entirety of one activation code within the
respective prescribed duration.
Guidance and control for high dynamic rotating artillery rockets
The acceleration autopilot with a rate loop is the most commonly implemented autopilot,
which has been extensively applied to high-performance missiles. Nevertheless, for spinning
rockets, the design of the guidance and control modules is a challenging task because the rapid
spinning of the body creates a heavy coupling between the normal and lateral rocket dynamics.
Nonlinear modelling of the rocket dynamics, control design as well as guidance algorithms are
performed in this paper. Moreover, discrete-time guidance and control algorithms for the
terminal phase, which is based on proportional navigation, are performed. Finally, complete
nonlinear simulations based on realistic scenarios are developed to demonstrate the robustness
of the proposed solution with respect to uncertainty regarding launch, environment and rocket
conditions. The performance of the proposed navigation, guidance and control system for a
high-spin rocket leads to significant reductions in impact point dispersion.
