b) Given that the motion of a particle along a straight line is defined by an expression [06marks]
S = 100 + 50t +10t2 – 2t3, where S is in meter, and t is in seconds. Calculate
(i) displacement , velocity, acceleration, at t = 0 and t = 6 sec, (ii) acceleration when
velocity becomes zero.
c) A riffle bullet is fired and hits a target 100 m distant. If the bullet rises to a [08Mark]
maximum height 0f 3 cm above the horizontal line between the muzzle of the
riffle and point of impact on the target. Find the muzzle velocity.

straight line by differentiation.
c) The acceleration of a body starting from rest is given b y a = 4 – 0.002S, where a [08Mark]
is acceleration in m/sec2 and S is the distance travelled in meters. Find the
velocity of the body when it has travelled 100 m and the distance travelled when
the body is again at rest.
