Types and Properties of Angles

Straight angles measure exactly 180°.
Right angles measure exactly 90°.
Acute angles are less than 90°.
Obtuse angles are greater than 90° but less than 180°.
Reflex angles are greater than 180° but less than 360°.

Adjacent Angles
Two angles which share the same vertex and have a common side are called adjacent angles.

Complementary Angles
Complementary angles are two angles which when summed equals 90°.

Supplementary Angles
Supplementary angles are two angles which when summed equals 180°.

Angles at a Point Angles on a straight line

Angles at a point add up to 360°. Angles on a straight line add up to 180o.

Vertically Opposite Angles Alternate Angles

Vertically opposite angles are equal in magnitude. Alternate angles are equal in magnitude

Corresponding Angles Consecutive Interior (Co-interior) Angles

Corresponding angles are equal in magnitude. Co-interior angles add up to 180o.

Triangles (Angles add up to 180o)

 Equilateral Triangle: All three sides/angles equal in size.  Right-Angled Triangles have one right angle.

 Isosceles Triangle: Two sides/angles equal in size.  Obtuse-Angled Triangles have one obtuse angle.
