Problem Solving Final

The title of my assignment i was given for my idp was Meningitis. This assignment

was completed in 9th grade in Ms. Dacamos class. My group and I was assigned to explain about

Meningitis and how could it be avoided to get. This fits the problem solving category because it

can lead to problems such as trouble with your memory and concentration and it could lead to

swelling in the brain. Meningitis should be treated immediately and we gave our opinion on how

to solve the problem. My group and I went to visit a doctor at a clinic at a medical center near

gage middle school and with the information the doctor gave us, the clinic doesn’t treat

meningitis. If it’s serious then the patient will have to quickly go to the emergency room to get

checked out.

The assignment I was given for my 2nd IDP was Eating Disorder. This assignment was

completed in 10th grade in Ms.Pinto class in this project I was ask to find important informations

about eating disorder and find how it could affect people in the community with it. This is

important because it can lead to depression and someone not liking who they are. This fits the

problem solving because we had to analyze, and find good solutions for the effects. My group

and I found a solution and it was to create a plan based on bullying and from there we created a

starting a bullying awareness week because bullying needs to end .

The student learning outcomes that I met was being a effective communicator because

when I was giving my information about eating disorder and research about important facts

about meningitis. I also written down the effects of the bacteria and showed people in the
community that meningitis can be effective to young children, adults, as well as college students.

Another reason I was an effective communicator is because I was giving the correct solution to

avoid meningitis.

My experience presenting my Idps out of all high school . I wasn’t comfortable and

I wasn’t communicating with my team. Until I had experience with presenting I felt confident in

myself and I was able to speak more to the audience and answer questions in my 2nd IDP. My

talking skills became much better and now presenting more I am able to show that I have

improve from doing IDPs. My second growth is being able to get speak out and being able to

talk to the audience. Now I’ve become not as much nervous as before In front of the audience

when it came to presenting. Lastly, what I want to work on is making eye contact with the

audience and not reading off the board. These skills will help me in the future when I am

speaking toward people such as potentially being interviewed for jobs, and doing college

presentation In the future.
