For our client SVZ we are currently looking for the Production Plant in Almonte (Spain) for a

(Agronomical) Procurement Coordinating Manager

Job Profile

The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the Procurement and Agronomic strategy,
developing a annual category raw materials budget and contributing to the development of the corporate
SVZ strategy. This will be realized by means of negotiating with external parties, contracting, providing
market intelligence and perfect administrational settlement, in line with corporate SVZ strategy, policy
and procedures. The objective is to ensure perfect availability of raw materials that meet production
requirements and contribute to the development of the Procurement department
You will be in close contact with Procurement at HQ, Supply Chain, QA and Plant Operations. You will
report to the Procurement Director at HQ.

Key Responsibilities

• Corporate Strategy: Develop and ensure implementation of the Procurement and Agronomic strategy,
develop a annual category raw materials budget and contribute to the development of the corporate
SVZ strategy, in line with SVZ policy, procedures and guidelines.
• Purchasing and Negotiation: Efficient purchasing of raw materials, based on production/business
needs, by means of negotiating with external parties, contracting and monitoring compliance of
contracts, all in line with SVZ procedures regarding cost price / quality ratio (Regionally). All to realize
a planned availability of raw materials meeting SVZ business/production needs and therefore the
category budget is realized
• Procurement Administration: Coordinate, execute, maintain and/or improve Procurement
administrative processes and systems such as concluding and drafting contracts with suppliers
(growers, traders and manufacturers), in line with SVZ policy, procedures and guidelines. All to run
procurement administrative processes and systems efficiently and effectively to guarantee a timely,
correct and complete administrative settlement.
• Relation Management: Expand and maintain a network of relevant internal and external relations and
partners, such as suppliers, in line with corporate SVZ guidelines and contributing to the Procurement
strategy. All to realize the networks is expanded and maintained to support input for marketing
activities, product development and access to relevant parties and sourcing possibilities.
• Management ( Market ) Information: Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative
developments such as prices of raw materials, harvest developments by means of periodical and ad hoc
reports and/or analyses of both result and (buying) process indicators, in line with reporting guidelines
The Management information enables management and/or other stakeholders to make timely decisions
and determine or adjust the procurement strategy.
• Advice : Formulate and present possible procurement (buying) solutions directions and issue advice at
request or at own initiative, in line with the procurement strategy, policy customers request and laws
and regulations. The Solutions enable the (internal) customer to effectively make decisions
• Processes, Procedures and tools: Develop, implement and/or optimize Procurement processes,
techniques and systems, based on the needs and interests of internal and/or external stakeholders to
Contribute to an effective and efficient procurement process, techniques and systems

Your Profile

• Higher Vocational in Food Technology or equivalent (agro-business, agriculture, also economy)


• 4 – 6 years commercial experience in B2B in the food industry, preferably international context and in
fruit and vegetables
• Good command of spoken and written Spanish and English language
• Good practical knowledge of Microsoft office and SAP
• Accountability for results and proactive approach (self motivated and result focused)
• Business understanding, curiosity and willingness to learn (Cross-functional business understanding)
• Effective collaboration across organization including high level management
• Purchasing experience in an international environment in the B2B or sale in fruit and/or vegetables or
an equivalent for industrial purposes
• Extensive experience in dealing with other cultures and able to appreciate and utilize the differences
between these cultures
• Proven experience in operational procurement
• Basic knowledge or relevant developments in the food sector such as HACCP, trace-ability and
agronomy.
• Strong negotiation-skills
• Outstanding strategic and analytical thinking, ability to synthesize
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with external and internal functions
• Good technical knowledge in Agro- supply and Raw Materials
