 TEMPERATURES OF DIFFERENT CITIES AROUND THE WORLD
Grade Level: Grade 9
Time Allotment 50 minutes
Learning Competencies/Objective
At the end of the cycle, learner should be able to:
1. Enumerate the different factors that affect the climate of a place.
2. Explain how latitude, altitude, and distance from the ocean affect climate.
3. Cooperate with the group during the activity.
ELICIT (LANGUAGE) MATERIAL
At the start of the lesson, the teacher will ask the
learners the following questions: Visual aids
1. What are the different factors that affect the
climate of a certain place?
2. How these factors affect the climate of a
place?

ENGAGE (INDUSTRIAL ARTS,LANGUAGE)


 The teacher will show the world map and ask
the students to locate the following cities
given on the table.  World map

EXPLORE (LANGUAGE, ARTS,VALUES)


Designing the Activity:
 Divide the class into 4 groups.  Activity paper
 Each group will be given an activity paper to  Activity chart (manila paper)
answer.
 Instruct the learners to write their answer on
the manila paper within 5 minutes.
 After the given allotted time, each group will
post their activity output on the board.
 Then, one representative of each group will
present their answers on the activity.

EXPLAIN (LANGUAGE)

ELABORATE (LANGUAGE, MATH)

 Based on the result of your activity the student


will answer the following questions:
1. Which city had the highest temperature?
2. What factor do you think is the cause of

3. Which city had the lowest temperature?
4. What factor do you think is the cause of
low temperature in that city?
5. What factor do you think greatly affects
the climate of Tokyo? Support your answer.
6. How does the elevation of Paris affect its
climate?
EVALUATE (LANGUAGE)

The teacher will ask the following questions:


1. Why do Philippines have tropical climate?
2. Why do other countries have temperate
climate? Cold climate?

EXTEND (ARTS, LANGUAGE)

 Take – Home task:


1. Give at least 5 countries that have
a. tropical climate
b. Temperate climate
c. Cold climate?
2. What factors affect on the climate of the
given place?
