In this activity, teacher read the book about space by using the Pictochart app.
Teacher talk about space with children. Later, children design a spaceship to go
into space. They put on astronauts that they had prepared before and set out to
explore the planets in space.

Individual Learning Activities -

Group Learning Activities They create a spaceship as whole group.

Children are presented with story cards to ask what the subject may be. Then,
short story which is created for this activity children are told by using story
cards. The book tells us that we can see the space at night. There are stars,
moon and other planets in space. The names of the planets which are Mercury,
Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune are said and shown the
picture of all of them. It is said that there are satellites other than planets in
space, and finally a colored space picture is shown to children. Children are
asked what they see in space. After the answers of the children are listened,
they are asked how to get to the space and what kind of a vehicle they can be.
After the various answers of the children, children are asked how the people
going to the space wear clothes. In last weeks, children talk about astronauts,
so this information can be taken from children, otherwise children are directed
by asking questions. Materials needed to go into space are counted together
with children. Children are asked whether they wonder the space or not. Then,
Children design their own spacecraft to go into space. They can paint the big
cardboard that they brought to the class as they like and stick the things they
want on it. After they complete their spaceships, they wear their astronauts’
costumes. Then, children enter the big carton and travel through space. Planets'
pictures are placed in various parts of the class and planets are visited
depending on the children's wishes. Children act according to the characteristics
of the located planet. For example, the coldest planet in Uranus. Therefore,
children should feel cold when they come to Uranus.
