There was a time, when buildings were simply protection against the elements, to keep out the

rain and the cold and to house people and simple machinery. However, in the last few decades, this has
changed radically. As the complexity of our equipment grows, we need structures that adapt to our
fluctuating needs in temperature, lighting, and humidity. As well, our work places must consider our
comfort and communication capability. And, as the human footprint on the world increases, so must the
designer of building systems provide high air quality and superior water and sanitation systems.
Continual improvement in our private and working lives is the challenge of those involved in building
services.

For this subject , we are required to conduct a study about mechanical and electrical system in
building. The building that we had been choose is F2. We also required to choose at least two type of
system in this building as a group project. This project required information from PPH UTHM about plan
of the building and schematic drawing. We also do a site visit to F2 for more information about the
system mechanical and electrical around the building.

Objective

 To generate knowledge and understanding about principles and practice of mechanical and
electrical in civil engineering field and to exposed to the function and application of building
system for human comfort.
 To lead in the application of environmental-friendly advanced civil engineering for the benefit of
mankind.
 Categorize M&E building system components according to degree of environmental friendly
compliance level.
 Reproduce M&E schematic layout and detail report similar with industry requirement.
 Apply knowledge on building electrical supply and fire safety.
 Apply knowledge on air conditioning and ventilation system.
 Organize and plan site visit to produce data and information for given project voluntarily.
 Understand and apply basic mechanical and electrical engineering in building.
