Hola a todos,   

 
I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. We are looking forward to a fun 
week in Kinder! Tuesday, we have a program from the Museum of Science learning 
about animal habitats. On Wednesday we have Field Day! On Friday, you should 
have received a small slip of paper with your child’s color assignment (either green, 
blue or red). Please dress your child in that color t-shirt on Wednesday. Please also 
remember to send your child with appropriate athletic clothing (including sneakers), 
sunscreen, a water bottle and maybe a hat! We are looking forward to some fun in 
the sun.   
 
This week we will also continue to review addresses and also explore our newest 
(and last) animal friend to join our class: lombrices (worms).  
 
La contraseña secreta (secret password) to come into the classroom this week will 
be ​ ​“por supuesto” (of course). 
 
A peek at our  In ​Spanish Language Arts​, we will begin reviewing syllables 
week  with vowel “o” as well as build on our prior knowledge of 
words and sentences with vowels “a” “e” and “i.” 
 
Words you can practice reading at home include: sopa, nado, 
Tito, cena, llena, gallo, carro, todo.  
 
Please remember how critical your nightly reading at home 
with your child is (in English or Spanish).Thank you!   
 
Week 7: allá, unas, ellos, les, doy (review).  
 
In ​Math​, we will continue to explore addition and subtraction 
concepts in our small group rotations. We are also reviewing 
the “tricky teens” and introducing place value concepts.  
 
In ​Social Emotional learning​, as part of our Open Circle 
curriculum, we are going to spend the rest of the year, going 
back and diving deeper into some of the concepts and 
themes introduced at the beginning of the year. This week 
we will focus on purposeful listening.  

Incorporating  Many card and board games can easily be adapted to be 
more Spanish at  played in Spanish. Some classroom favorites are: Uno, 
home  Monopoly, and Go Fish (a pescar).  
 
Encourage students to use the past “contraseñas secretas” 
with you at home! Previous contraseñas: Gracias, por favor, 
buenos días, puedo ir al baño, puedo tomar agua, permiso, 
buenas tardes, me gusta, no me gusta, feliz año nuevo, yo 
tengo hambre, tengo sed, hace frío, hace calor, día del amor y 
la amistad, día del presidente, lectura por toda América, 
buena suerte, hola primavera, hola abril, gracias por venir, 
feliz día de la tierra, cuídate,
