der grip of the bureau in com­
ing  days.  The  situation had
been  created  to  escape  the
NAB laws, he added.

tain amendments in NAB laws
in collaboration with the gov­
ernment, but no due attention
was given towards improving
the accountability laws.
Asif was of the view that
NAB  laws were  framed  dur­
ing the tenure of a dictator with
an aim to gauge political op­

NORTH WAZIRISTAN
(Online): A  Pakistan Army
soldier was martyred in an ex­
change  of  fire with  terrorists
who  raided  a  checkpost  in
North Waziristan on Monday,
the Inter­Services  Public Re­
lations said in a press release
issued early this morning.
“Terrorists raided Makki
Garh Post,  Shawal  Valley,
North  Waziristan,”  the  ISPR
said,  adding that  “troops  ef­
fectively repulsed”  the  at­
tempt. “In exchange of fire, a
soldier of the Pak Army em­
braced  shahadat,”  the  state­
ment added.
The  ISPR said  five  bul­
let­riddled bodies were recov­
ered  from  a  nullah  in  North
Waziristan’s  Boya  area,  ap­
proximately 1.5  kilometres
away from the  Kharqamar
checkpost, where an exchange
of fire on Sunday killed three
people and injured 15, includ­
ing five soldiers.

ish government and Pakistan
have signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) for the
formal  beginning  of  process

A source familiar with the de­
velopment  said that  it’s a big
step towards Pakistan’s efforts
for the extradition of Ishaq Dar
in the absence of a treaty; the
only possibility of someone’s
extradition is by way of a spe­
cial arrangement for extradition
of a specific person.
In  recent  years,  the  UK
has made such special arrange­
ments with the government of
Rwanda  and  once  with Tai­
wan.  In  relation  to  Rwanda,
added.  She  said those  who
wanted  to minus  the  prime
minister, themselves were get­
ting minus in the political sys­

KS&EW, constructed in 1957.
Karachi  Shipyard  was  estab­
lished in 1956 as a public lim­
ited  company  and  covers  an
area of 71 acres. The shipyard
is headed by a Managing Di­
rector and has a total of 2800
people working in it.
The shipyard has 2 grav­
berths  and 2  quay walls.  Till
day 448 ships  have been de­
signed  and  prepared  by the
shipyard including some ships
made for UAE, Saudi Arabia,
Chin a, Iran and Belgiu m.
Karachi  Shipyard has  also
manufactured Pakistan Navy
Fleet Tanker  having a  capac­
ity of 17000 tons of displace­
ment as well as two helicop­
ters  simultaneously.  Other
projects  include  aluminum
boats, fast track craft missile,
and  submarines. In  addition,
the  shipyard  also  carries  out
ship repair  work  and  other
general  engineering  projects.
The shipyard  has a  Ship lift­
ing capacity of 7881 tons and
has a parking space of 12 ves­
ries out infrastructure up­gra­
dation of its facilities.
The  KS&WE  which is
ISO 9001, ISO  14001  and
OHSAS 18001 certified by M/
s  Lioyd’s  Register  UK,  has
made  tremendous contribu­
tions by building 448 ships and
repairing over 5000 vessels of
national and international ori­
gin. It has become financially
self­sustaining and its produc­
tivity will further enhance af­
