MATERIALS AND METHODS

4.1. Research design

The study used the descriptive method of research, because the descriptive
method of research is a study wherein researchers will discover facts. It involves
sufficient and adequate understanding of the result. Descriptive research describes a
specific present condition. However, it is an appropriate method to be used, because the
respondents can express it through survey questionnaires and can help to sort things
out with regards to the study of usage of interactive multimedia by grade 10 students.
Descriptive research are correlated with the age, sex, and the level of involvement.

4.2. Subject of the study

The study was conducted at Max Mirafuentes Academy, a private secondary
school located at Tagum City, Davao del Norte (Figure 2). The subjects of the study
were all the students from Grade 10 that were enrolled on the school year 2017-2018.

4.3. Data gathering procedure

First, the researchers asked permission from the Grade 10 advisers to have a
study that was conducted in a survey form. Second, was the distribution of the
questionnaires to the respondents and gave the proper instruction on how to answer it.
And lastly, the researchers were collected the data and tabulate for statistical analysis.

4.4 Instruments used in the study

The questionnaire that used was in a survey form. The paper used in determining
the respondents’ experiences. The scoring is preferred since it is used for measuring
attribute discrete data where the responses are from questionnaires. In addition, the
scale measures people’s responses. This is how the different factors will be measured:
On disagreement and agreement for every questions: Yes, No

4.5 Data analysis

The usage of interactive multimedia of Grade 10 students of Max Mirafuentes
Academy were gathered through the a survey questionnaire. The results tallied and
evaluated by an evaluator and the researcher. The data was analyzed and interpreted
using the following statistical tools:

1) Percentage was used to describe the different levels of the students in

hundredths.

𝑓
%= ∗ 100%
𝑛

2) Chi-square was used to compare the data in the study

3) One-way ANOVA was used to determine whether there is a significant

difference in the study.
