Marjane having to wear the veil negatively affected her attitude towards herself.
In the story Marjane says “We didn’t really like to wear the veil, especially since we
didn’t understand why we had to” This shows that the veil made her upset because she
didn’t want to wear it. When Marjane’s mother wasn’t wearing her vail in public
someone came up to her and said “people like you should be thrown in the garbage”
This made Marjane scared for her safety. In conclusion Marjane being forced to wear
the veil made her feel unsafe and upset.
