Most people take sounds and creat the music as their hobby. Some people
listen music everyday even everytime cause of music acts as a mood booster, and
also giving passion in our lives. In choosing music, people sometimes relate lirycs
in a song into their own life. People around us are giving effect to our
development on music. But some people refuse to listen to music that has bad
sounds or not related to their life. That is why the development of some people’s
music can not be influenced by the surrounding environment. The development of
different music is what makes the creation of many kinds of music that we know
today. Genre is grouping music according to their similarity to each other and also
a genre can be defined by music techniques, styles, contexts, and musical themes.
Today there are many kinds of music known worldwide, such as rock, jazz, indie
and etc.
Rock is genre of music that is famaous for it’s special characteristic of a
loud sounds. Loud sounds derived from musical instruments used in the form of
electric guitar, drums, bass even the kibor. Regardless of it’s main characteristics,
there are also rock music that is played with a slowly sounds but still used electric
guitars or acoustic guitars, bass even the drums that usually make rock music
sounded loud. Fans of rock music usually looks like strange person, such as
colorful hair, black clothes, wear jeans or being rude with tattoos on the body.
But not all fans of such rock music, some fans or rock musicians look neat even to
wear a suit. Such as group band rock from America, The Beatles who look neat
when performing on stage.
Different from rock music, this one music genre has a swinging rhythm
that becomes the main character of this genre, it’s called jazz music. There are
many things who’s make differentiation with other music. The things that are
more often than not in jazz music are swinging patterns on drums, saxophones and
trumpet. This genre also often improvise with one type of musical instrument, like
improvise with saxophones or trumpet only. The rhythm of jazz music sometimes
makes people more calmer and relax. Love songs or sad songs serve the purpose
in expressing feelings and can also be a technique for someone to express
themselves and also tell about them and make them really think about it
The last genre is indie, this one music genre is a unique genre because not
everyone understands about this genre, and it will be difficult ti understand this
genre. Indie genre is one genre of music that never tied to a music lebel or
anything about the focus of music, they just want to freedom genre. Those who
embrace the indie genre, just make the song they like. Their marketing type is not
through the producer or management, they market is worked by giving their music
among friends, tend to be more socialized. Indonesia has a lot of musicians who
embrace the indie genre, even many famous bands such as, Payung Teduh,
Bandanaria, Fortwenty, Efek rumah kaca and Sore. Their famous besided because
of they have good masterpiece and also because embracing the indie genre.
Of these genre, I think music has it’s own audience, including it’s players
or musicians. The number of options about music, making the genre laid out as a
