Introduction to Southern Kung Fu & Beginners Level 1 - BLACK BELT

Discover your potential at Southern Kung Fu. Kung Fu is one of the most ancient styles of Martial Arts.
Throughout history it has been prominent in teachings of Discipline, Honor, Respect, Confidence, Self
Enlightenment and Self Cultivation. Not only do you learn self defence skills but many other benefits
evolve from the practice of Kung Fu. Most practitioners begin the art to learn the fighting style but find
it leads to a deeper discovery of one's self. This enables mental stability coupled with physical and
emotional strength therefore achieving greater awareness to deal with dangerous and stressful
situations but also all aspects of one's life.

Southern Kung Fu style of training is the only school in Perth that was endorsed by the Shaolin Monks
as,"Ging Mo Kune" which translates to, the essence of all martial arts! Proven through history it is one of
the most effective ever created, however this style has been developed to suit modern day situations,
so we train to control multiple opponents, where most others are 1 on 1.

This style is also unique as it teaches the true traditional weaponry techniques used in ancient times.

Through the teaching of Southern Kung Fu a good understanding of psychology and philosophy is
essential in creating the balance of body, mind and spirit.

TRADITONAL KUNG FU SALUTE

The salute is an amalgamation of Ying & Yang which is open palm for peace and closed fist for anger.
This creates a harmonious balanced gesture of respect and humility.

This traditional salute is used when greeting each other in our training and when leaving the school.

ENTERING & LEAVING THE SCHOOL

When entering and leaving the school it is customary to respect the art by bowing in and out to the
emblem of Southern Kung Fu, we then salute the respective hierarchy.

GRADING

Grading’s are important to recognize where you are going to and where you have come from within the
training system. It also encourages you to have the three step goal system:

your short term goal.
