A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE:
ABSTRACT
The present article intends to make a critical analysis of the book "Informatic society",
considering the ethical effects of the technological advances in diverse fields of
analysis, as done by its author, Adam Schaff, tracing parallels with thoughts of other
writers of great relevance for the subject, as well as contemporary aspects that are
important to the debate. Initially, an examination is made of the consequences of the
Second Industrial Revolution, its possible unfolding and the trends arising from this
phenomenon in relation to social aspects. After delimiting the context in which
individuals are inserted and in which they must act, we proceed to analyze the human
individual itself and its possible destiny in the face of the ongoing transformations, from
the perspective of three distinct aspects of individual life: individuality, the meaning of
life and the way of life. Finally, the permanent education project is described, consisting
in an appropriate substitute for traditional word and a preventive measure to be
urgently implemented in order to avoid the worsening of social unrest resulting from
structural unemployment caused by the automation of production and services.
