Reflective Essay

During the spring semester english 101 class has taught me a lot, on improving my essay

writing,organization skills, and dissecting novels in a complex way. This time around English class

was extremely hard for me. Learning about the new types of thesis's was new for me. The

assignments and activities that definitely helped me this semester have to be the word journals and

group activities. When we answered questions about the novel as a group I could see the other

perspectives of my classmates because sometimes I wasn't on point and they could clarify for me.

Reading journals help me a lot because I could come back to something that I didn't understand

and look it up whether it was a definition or a phrase. I really hope on improving my writing skills

as far as counter-argument go, I need to learn how to make my essays flow accordingly.

My strong points would definitely have to be my creativity with coming up for topics as

far as my essays go. I can almost always make a new story about of thin air. In the future I hope

to become either a counselor or a teacher for kids who suffer from mental disabilities/disorders.

Those type of educational leaders are needed right now because a lot of people don't want to

work with those type of kids they feel like it's a hassle. I on the other hand see it differently, I

feel like those are the type of kids that need more help. Just because they're different doesn't

mean they deserve to be treated unfairly. All types of students deserve an equal opportunity

when it comes to learning or obtaining a higher education. I feel like I could be that person in

the future because of Community College and what I've learned here. Honestly being part of

Puente club has taught me a lot too. Who knows maybe one day I too can be teaching English

101 to children or teenagers who have autism and I'll remember this class and go back on what I

learned here because of Professor batty.

In conclusion I really enjoyed English 101 and I definitely see myself taking english 102 in

the near future. I hope to take whatever and here and apply it in my future with no matter where

I am at. One thing is for sure I definitely enjoy writing and reading. I hope to expand my

vocabulary as well. Fortunately one of my very few weaknesses is procrastinating on

assignments which I really need to work on adjusting because it's a bad habit. Ill excell at

becoming a better writer no matter what it takes.
