B. Other Instructional Resources:
Laptop with Projector, blackboard with chalk or whiteboard with marker
Desktop computers and peripherals, and USB flashdrive from the learners
(as required by the teacher to bring)

IV. PROCEDURE:
Pre- Activity
Motivation:
IDENTIFY THE LOGO

1. Divide the class into two groups.

2. Using a multimedia projector, the teacher will show a couple of logos
on the screen
3. Any learner from each group can participate and answer and will be
given a point for each correct answer.
4. The group finishes with the higher score wins the game.

Guide Questions:
 What do you think are these logos?
 What hardware components or devices do you have in your home that has the
brand shown?
 What do you think these logos manufacture in common?

REVIEW/PRESENTING NEW IDEAS:

Hard Disk Drives and USB Flash Drives are some of the devices that store
permanent data saved from the computer. USB Flashdrive is the most common and
cheapest device that stores small up to large amount of data. USB flashdrives are
also used to create an installer for an operating system
PRESENTING THE PURPOSE OF THE LESSON:

The objective of today’s lesson is to create a bootable OS installer using Windows

Command Prompt and RUFUS (third party software)

ACTIVITY:
1. Group the learners into five (5).
2. Watch the video tutorial about “creating a bootable flashdrive using cmd prompt”
and “Create Bootable USB drive for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 using Rufus”
References: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ5Teoiicy8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A1sUPqnurs
3. The group will discuss and gather their observation about the video and write
down a summary.
4. Each group will be given five (5) minutes to report their observation.

ANALYSIS:

Each group will answer the following questions:

1. What have you observed during the video presentation?
2. Which of the two methods of creating a bootable flashdrive you think is easier to
perform and why?

ABSTRACTION:
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION about the procedures on Preparing a
Bootable installer
Guide Questions:
1. What are the requirements on creating a bootable flashdrive installer?
2. What are the advantages of using a flashdrive as an installer compared to a
bootable CD/DVD?
3. What are the procedures on how to create a bootable flashdrive using Windows
cmd prompt and using RUFUS software?

APLICATION:
1. Each learner will be assigned a computer to work on.
2. Each learner must have a USB flashdrive.
3. Learners are expected to finish the task in seven (30) minutes.
Tasks to do:
Creating a Bootable Flashdrive using CMD PROMPT
1. Connect the USB Flashdrive at the back panel USB port of the computer.
2. Go to the start menu and look for cmd prompt (you can use the search bar to look
for the application)
3. Right click the program and select “Run as administrator”

image) and select it
5. After the ISO image of the installer is selected, click the start button to start creating a
bootable.

6. The progress bar will show how many percent of the process is completed and once
it reaches 100% it will stop and you can click the close button. You can click the
log button to view the current activities going on the flashdrive
