TITLE​ - What will you call your movie?

“High School Tragedy”

SETTING​ - will you do a modern day movie or set in the time period when it was
written? Why?
I will set this movie in modern day for the similar reason that I would choose to use
modern day english as opposed to Shakespearean language. I would choose modern
day because I think that the introduction of modern day technology could be an
interesting twist in the plot.

MOVIE GENRE​ - Will this be a satirical comedy (Gnomeo and Juliet)? Will it be a
romance? Will it be a drama? Will you transform it into a horror movie? A teen movie?
Will it be true to the play? What will the tone of the movie be (dark, happy, suspenseful,
etc.)
I will transform the original play into a cheesy teen romance. I will also make sure that
it is fairly true to the play because I am using the similar plot (family feud).The tone of
the movie would have a comedic, cheesy tone.

the actors/actresses for EACH ROLE:

Romeo:
I would cast Jake T. Austin as Romeo in my movie. I made this choice because I think
that he would be able to encompass the role. I also think that he could attract viewers
because he has been in a lot of popular movies/TV shows.

Juliet:
I would cast Bailee Madison as Juliet in my movie. I made this choice because I think
that she would be easy to work with. I also think that she would do a good job with the
role.
Benvolio:
I would cast Noah Schnapp as Benvolio in my movie. I made this choice because I
think he fits the age range that I’m going for in this movie. I also think that he would
bring a lot of publicity to the movie because he’s a popular actor.

Mercutio:
I would cast Nick Robinson as Mercutio in my movie. I made this choice because I
think that he would bring a lot to attention to the movie because of a lot of the popular
roles that he has been casted in. I also think that he’s a good actor and would do a
good job in the role.

Tybalt:
I would cast Jack Dylan Grazer as Tybalt in my movie. I made this choice because I
think that he would do a good job playing a bad character. I also think that he would
add a lot of personality to the cast/movie.

Nurse:
I would cast Meryl Streep to play the Nurse. I made this a choice because she
reminds me of a very motherly character especially as her role as Donna in ​Mamma
Mia!. I​ would also give her the role as her the school nurse to play on the more literal
character name.

Friar:
I would cast Leonardo Dicaprio as Friar. I made this choice because I was thinking of
turning Friar into a teacher type character and I think that he would encompass this
role very nicely. I also think that he would bring a lot of attention to the movie because
of his A-list reputation.

Paris:
I would cast Caleb McLaughlin as Paris in my movie. I made this choice because I
think that he could do a good job of acting in a role that the character is very love-sick.
I also choose him for this role because I liked how he did in ​Stranger Things.

“Love Story” by Taylor Ed Sheeran (honestly Ellie Goulding also has lots
Swift (mostly because I like anything that he has fits of songs that fit the criteria
the irony of it) the tone that I’m going for)

LANGUAGE​ (will you use Shakespeare’s language or change it to modern day

language? Explain why.):
I will change the language to modern day because I had a hard time understanding
the Shakespeare language when we read the original. There is also already a play
with the same concept already in Shakespeare's language.

Why?:
The meeting between the School dance where the The deaths of Juliet and
two main characters. characters go together Romeo (they don’t kill
themselves though
because that might be a
little triggering for a
teenage movie).
