Journal

This past Sunday, I interviewed Dr. Elyse Foster about my topic of research. We talked a

lot about California’s efforts to reduce maternal mortality, and what still needs to be done to

reduce this rate throughout the country. This past week, we also did our thesis board group

presentations, and I got to talk to my peers about my research topic. They gave me some

valuable advice, and it was also really great to hear other people’s ideas. Before I gave my thesis

board group presentation, I completed a rough outline, which helped give me an understanding

of how my research paper will be structured, and which parts of my research paper need to be

strengthened. Last week, I also gave two marketing speeches, which I think went better than the

first one, as I improved on my presentation after each one that I gave.
