Class Description:
The expected students of this lesson plan are the heterogeneous section of
the Grade 8 students of Laureta National High School. With this expectation, the
activities and discussions included herein are tailored according to their level of
understanding and capacity. However, the outcomes after this lesson are still aligned to
the curriculum requirements of their grade level.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the period, the students should be able to:
1. identify the parts of a letter;
2. arrange the sequence a letter; and
3. appreciate the importance of a letter.
B. Activity
The teacher gives a puzzled paper to the students that end up with a
complete form of letter.
The teacher refreshes the students’ knowledge about a letter.
In order to jumpstart the discussion on the topic for the day, the teacher
throws a question to provoke the students to think:
“What is the importance of a letter?”
The teacher facilitates the exchange of ideas and introduces the title of
the lesson.
C. Analysis
Following are some of the guide questions which will be answered during
the development of the lesson.
*What is a letter?
*What are the parts of a letter?
*How is it looks like?
*What is the sequence of a letter?
D. Abstraction
In order to engage better the students into the analysis of the lesson, the
teacher presents a video that explains further. The students are given 4
minutes to view the video from which the following enrichment activities
are taken from.
After viewing, the teacher encourages the students to share their insights
or ideas about the topic. This activity makes sure that the students have
grasped the meaning of the lesson for the activities that follow.
*What are the parts of a letter?
*What is the sequence of its part?
E. Application
GROUP WORK. The students are divided into three teams. Each group
receives materials from the teacher for the activity.
Each group will be given unarranged parts of a letter, all they need to do
is to arrange the sequence of a letter.
Each group is given 5 minutes to accomplish the task.
IV. EVALUATION
INSTRUCTIONS: listen carefully. The teacher gives a 10 items quiz that is for
identification of the parts of a letter and its correct punctuation.
