AMBULANCE Daily Checklist

Oxygen Pressures

Charge main oxygen system and write down the PSI from the gauge. Also check the Vehicle/Unit Maintenance
Main Tank PSI (change if < 500 PSI) whiteboard to ensure up-to-date information to corresponding unit.
When finished, ‘bleed’ the system and turn OFF the regulator. Change tank if PSI < 500.

Charge portable oxygen system and write down the PSI from the gauge.
Portable Tank PSI (change if < 500 PSI)
When finished, ‘bleed’ the system and turn OFF the regulator. Change tank if PSI < 500.

Spare O2 Tanks (X2) Check to see if there are (2) full spare tanks with security tabs in tact.

Mechanical

Odometer Reading Check and document odometer reading and ensure correct reading is on the passenger visor.

Auto Eject Functioning Check to ensure the Auto Eject is working when the unit is started (plug is ejected completely)
Fuel Tank Full Turn ignition “ON” and ensure the fuel gauge is reading “FULL”.
Transmission Fluid Check Check level-(should be above white mark on dipstick while cold), color-(reddish) and smell-(not burnt).

Oil Level OK Check oil level and add if necessary.

Washer Fluid OK Check washer fluid and add if necessary.

Belts and Hoses OK Check (visually) for cracks/leaks in any hoses or belts and report as necessary.

Measure with tire gauge the tire pressures for all tires on the unit and document. Each unit has a specific tire pressure
Tire Pressures (X4 / X6) PSI which is on the front cover of the unit book and whiteboard—(Vehicle/Unit Maintenance). Ensure Tires are at least
minimums and fill if lower than pressure indicated.

Electrical (must be running)

Emergency Lights OK (low) Turn on emergency lights and ensure all are working on low.

Emergency Lights OK (high) Turn on emergency lights and ensure all are working on low.
Wig-Wag Lights (if applicable) Turn on “wig-wag” emergency lights and ensure working on both headlights.

Left Scene Light OK Turn on left scene light and ensure all are working.

Right Scene Light OK Turn on right scene light and ensure all are working.

Rear Scene Light OK Turn on rear scene light and ensure all are working.

Head Lights OK (low) Turn on headlights and ensure all are working on low beams.

Head Lights OK (high) Turn on headlights and ensure all are working on high beams.

Reverse Lights With brake engaged, shift unit into Reverse and have partner ensure all reverse lights functioning.

Brake Lights Engage brakes and ensure all lights working properly.

Fog Lights OK and Secure Turn on fog lights and ensure both are working and secured tightly to bumper.

Signal Lights OK Turn on signal lights (left/right) and ensure all are working (front/back).

4-Way Lights OK Turn on and ensure all are working (front/back).

Running Lights OK (if applicable) Turn on park lights and ensure all running lights are functioning.

License Plate Light Turn on park lights and ensure License plate light is functioning.

Dash Lights OK Turn on park lights and ensure dash lights are functioning.

Console Lights OK Turn on park lights and ensure console lights are functioning.

Front Interior Factory Lights OK Turn on front interior (factory) lights and ensure functioning.

Front Interior Custom Lights OK Turn on front interior (custom) cabin lights and ensure functioning.

Map Light OK Turn on map light and ensure functioning.

Back Cot Lights OK (high from front) Turn on cot lights from FRONT switch and ensure functioning on high intensity.
Back Cot Lights OK (low from front) Turn on cot lights from FRONT switch and ensure functioning on low intensity.
Back Cot Lights OK (high from back) Turn on cot lights from BACK switch and ensure functioning on high intensity.
Back Cot Lights OK (low from back) Turn on cot lights from BACK switch and ensure functioning on low intensity.

Amperes Gauge Reading ‘Charge/Green’ (if applicable) Ensure needle is in the ‘Charge’ or green section of the gauge while running.

Volt Gauge Reading ‘OK/Green’ (if applicable) Ensure needle is in the ‘OK’ or green section of the gauge while running.

Power Windows OK (if applicable) Ensure power windows functioning.

Power Locks OK (if applicable) Ensure power locks functioning.

Windshield Wipers OK (low) Turn on and ensure wipers are functioning on low speed.

Front Air Conditioner (seasonal) Turn on front air conditioner and ensure functioning properly.
Back Air Conditioner (seasonal) Turn on back air conditioner and ensure functioning properly.
Cabinet Compartment Lights (back) Turn on cabinet compartment lights and ensure ALL are functioning properly.
Reading Light (back) Turn on reading light in back compartment and ensure functioning properly.
Clock Ensure clock is functioning with CORRECT time displayed.

Siren OK (all modes) Turn on siren and check all modes to ensure functioning.

Horn OK (factory) Test horn and ensure functioning.

Reverse Alarm OK Ensure when vehicle is in reverse the alarm is functioning.

Body

Hood Functioning OK Ensure hood opens and closed properly and bug deflector is attached properly to hood (if applicable)

Running Boards Secure Ensure running boards are securely fastened on both sides.

Back Step Functioning OK Ensure back step/bumper is working properly and not loose.

Condition of Windshield OK Ensure windshield is not obstructed with cracks or chips.

Wiper Blades OK Ensure wiper blades are in good condition.

Rear View Mirrors OK (interior/exterior) Ensure rear view mirrors are secure and functioning properly, (exterior electric ones).

Antenna OK (AM/FM radio) Ensure radio antenna is securely fastened to vehicle.


Antenna OK (FleetNet radio) Ensure FleetNet antenna is securely fastened to vehicle.
All Doors open/close Good and Weather Stripping OK Ensure all doors and weather stripping functioning OK.

Cleaning

All Windows Clean Ensure all exterior windows are clean and re-clean if necessary.

Dashboard Dusted Ensure dashboard is clean and re-clean if necessary.

Floors Clean (inside front/back) Ensure front and back floors clean and re-clean if necessary.

Bumpers/Running Boards Clean Ensure all bumpers/running boards clean and re-clean if necessary.

Wheels Clean Ensure all wheels and rims clean and re-clean if necessary.

Exterior Clean Ensure exterior of unit clean and re-clean if necessary.


All Doors (inside) are Cleaned/Disinfected Wipe all interior doors with disinfectant. (includes door compartments)
Center Console Clean Ensure center console in front cab compartment is clean and re-clean if necessary.

Back Compartment Seats Clean Ensure back cab compartment seats (bench and captains chair) are clean and re-clean if necessary)

Back Compartment Cabinets and Shelves Clean Ensure all cabinets, doors and shelves (if applicable) are clean and re-clean if necessary.

Unit Ready for Response (In Service) Place  if unit in-service and ready to use and change whiteboard if necessary.

Unit NOT Ready for Response (Out of Service) Place  if unit not in-service and not ready to use and change whiteboard if necessary.
