LESSON PLAN IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
a. Understand the concept of basic parts of computer hardware.
b. Distinguish the function of basic parts of a computer hardware
c. Utilize their skills and knowledge about basic computer hardware in their daily activities.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: THE BASIC PARTS OF COMPUTER HARDWARE

General Aids: Computer Set and Projector
Materials: Scramble Word
LCD Projector
Laptop

III. PROCEDURES:

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNER’SACTIVITY

1. Classroom Routine
1.1 Opening Prayer
-(the teacher will call one student to lead - OUR FATHER......
the Prayer)
1.2 Greetings!
- (Good Morning Class!) - Good Morning, ma’am!
- Please be seated - Thank You, ma’am.
1.3 Checking Attendance - Nobody, ma’am.
- Who is absent for today?
- Very Good!

A. Review/Recall(about computer)

- Before we start our discussion let us

review first about computer.

-What is computer? - Computer is an electronic machine that

- -Anyone from the class? can store and work with large amount of
- Yes! information.

- Very Good! Also through computer it is

easier to communicate, find information
and create files or document. One of the
main advantages of a computer its
incredible speed, which helps us humans
to complete our task in a short period of
time.

- Do you have any question - No ma’am.

B. Motivation:

SCRAMBLE LETTER (ACTIVITY)

- Okay class, I will group you into three

groups. I have here a scramble letter, all
you have to do is to arrange it into a
correct sentence. You are given three (3)
minutes to do your given task; the first
group who can solve the scramble words
will be given a 5POINTS. You may start - Everyone do their task
now.

the scramble words:

EHT CISAB STRAP FO A RETUPMOC ERAWDRAH.
EHT CISAB STRAP FO A RETUPMOC ERAWDRAH.
Answer: THE BASIC PARTS OF COMPUTER
HARDWARE

- Can you please read the correct

sentence? Answer: THE BASIC PARTS OF A COMPUTER
HARDWARE.
C. Presentation -
- Our topic for today is about;
“THE BASIC PARTS OF A COMPUTER

D. Discussion:
- What is Computer hardware?
-
-Refers to the physical devices make up a
computer. Examples: keyboard, monitor and
disk drive.
- Very Good!

- Class, there are many parts of computer

hardware.
- I have here a picture.
Do you know what’s in the picture? System unit – is the part of a computer that
houses the primary devices that perform
operations and produce results for complex
calculations.

You are correct! Very Good! Power Supply- The power supply unit is the piece
of hardware that’s used to convert the power

provided from the outlet into usable power for
the many parts inside the computer case.

That’s right! Motherboard- It is the main circuit board of a

computer. It contains all the circuit and

components that run the computer.

Central Processing Unit (CPU)- The processor is

the main brain or a heart of a computer system. It
performs all of the instructions and calculations

Yes! That’s correct!

How about this? Heat Sink- A thermal conductive metal device
designed to absorb and disperse heat away from
a high temperature object such as computer
processor.
That’s correct!
How about this? Hard Drive- Used to store large amount of data in
a computer system. It houses the hard disk,
where all your files and folders are physically
located. A typical hard drive is only slightly larger
than your hand, yet can hold over 100 GB of data.

Computer Memory-
ROM is the form of data storage in computers

RAM is a form of data storage that can be
accessed randomly at any time, in any order and
from any physical location in contrast to other
