1 Introduction to ZTE Training Service
1.1 General Introduction.

ZTE University was founded by ZTE Corporation in July, 2003 as its enterprise university.
ZTE University’s Objectives: Provide ZTE and its partners with professional training
services, consulting services & professional written documents.
ZTE University’s Vision: Become one of the international top-class enterprise universities.
ZTE University’s Mission: Knowledge integrating, updating and delivering; cultivate

talents for internal/external customers to enhance HR competence; and become the
source of enterprise learning for enhancing its competitiveness.

1.2 Knowledge Services
1.2.1 Training Services

ZTE University offers administrative and technical training programs for customers.
The administrative training programs cover ten niche fields of leadership, human
resources, finance, professional qualities, sales & marketing, project management,
logistics, quality assurance, business, and English language.

The nearly 500 product training courses cover all ZTE products in the fields of 3G, NGN,
switch, access, transmission, wireless, data, handset and intelligent services etc. The
technical training programs include the Equipment System Training, New Technology
Special, Maintenance Special, and other special trainings. According to customers’
requirements, ZTE University has developed a four-level training curriculum for
equipment system training: Level-C, Level-B, Level-A, and Level-S. Courses of each
level can be independent. The trainees can also take the courses step by step from
basic to advance. The special training courses have satisfied the customer needs as for
any special topics. Course objectives of technical training are set to be matched with the
skills requirements of different positions, in order to achieve better skills improvements.
1.2.2 Documentation Service

Documentation engineers participate in the product development as formal members of
the product development team, which means that the documentation development is
now synchronized with the product development. ZTE University has introduced an
advanced tool ‘Arbortext Editor’ into the documentation development & management
system. Training materials & product manuals are now sharing the same source. An
advanced, efficient, and complete process is built for document development and
management. During the process, GR454 and DITA standards are strictly followed to
ensure the consistency of document contents and format.
Documentation development is based on customer requirements. ZTE University now

provides a variety of knowledge delivery products, including product manuals, training
materials, maintenance e, documents for special issues, and document express. .Under
the concept of Knowledge Service, ZTE University has set up a unified platform for
customer documentation service to focus on customer’s personalized learning habits,
and to deliver product knowledge to customers timely through hard copy, electronic copy,
or disk.
1.2.3 Consulting Services

ZTE University is providing customers with training management, documentation and
HR management consultation services etc.
Training management consultation includes services like training management system

diagnosis, building training system, annual training planning, training support strategy
and training achievement transformation etc.
Documentation consulting service covers different aspects of document development,

such as development process optimization, documentation system planning, content
reuse strategy planning & implementation, quality evaluation and training for document
development engineer, job analysis & skills certification for documentation development
positions, document architecture design, information architecture design, advance
technical writing training and multi-media & publication design etc.
HR management consulting service includes qualification certification and training,

organization & management, project-mode operation and performance appraisal etc.

1.2.4 Special Services
1.2.4.1 Distance Learning
The distance learning system of ZTE University has the leading services, technologies
and products and offers customers and telecom operators all over the world with
distance learning solutions and online learning services.
ZTE University’s distance learning utilizes the E-university platform (network platform)
and lively multi-media learning coursewares & experimental simulation softwares to offer
trainees a new learning experience. The use of virtual classroom’ teaching method
allows trainees from different places to attend the same distance training class. Each
class will have a training assistant to offer trainees a full set of curriculum materials & a
complete training plan. To ensure the learning progress is well organized and allow
trainees interact with course tutors, a variety of Q &A tutorials are also offered.
1.2.4.2 ZTE practice simulation software
ZTE practice simulation software is to simulate the software and hardware

“ operations ” of network communication system in a virtual environment. It can
reappear the digital representation of hardware observation, data configuration, data
tracking and service flows to provide a vivid practicing environment for customers
without being in a real lab. It’s a powerful tool for improving the effectiveness of teaching
and optimizing distance learning. The following functional modules are provided: Virtual
Lab, Configuration Management, Result Feedback, Service Realization and Examination
Management. By using this simulation software, the user can perform training or self-
learning; through the Examination Management module, relevant skills certification and
examination can also be organized..
1.2.4.3 ZTE NC Customer Skills Certification
ZTE NC customer skills certification (NC, Network and Communication), is one of the
most popular professional skills certification promoted together by ZTE and telecom
operators. ZTE NC customer skills certification is mainly for system and equipment
operation & maintenance engineers. It delivers HR & professional skills ladder
certification services to the telecom operators.
Through the skills certification and its results analysis, on one hand, ‘arrange job and
position according to employees' skills and qualifications’ can be implemented; Telecom
operators can effectively control the future human resources development direction for
cultivating talents. One the other hand, it motivates the technical staff to set their
improvement objectives in each stage and plan their career development path
accordingly. ZTE NC customer skills certification from basic to advance are as following:
NC Certification Level I Engineer, NC Certification Level II Engineer, NC Certification
Basic Engineer, NC Certification Expert.
ZTE NC customer skills certification has adopted various evaluation and examination
methods in combination of theory and practice. According to ‘United skill certification’
principle, the skills certification committee consists of maintenance experts for telecom
operators, ZTE customer service experts, and ZTE’s Basic trainers, to ensure the
certification results is objective, fair and accurate. Certification is designed to be
customer-oriented. Except offering regular certifications for some particular products and

fields, special certification can also be customized according to the specific requirements

1.3 Learning-oriented Hotel Service

ZTE University, with a floor space of 50,000 square meters, is located at Shenzhen
Dameisha Beach known as the Oriental Hawaii. It sits at the foot of a beautiful mountain,
looking out over the South China Sea. By scientifically combining the training and hotel
facilities, ZTE University offers a comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful learning and living
environment for trainees. The university complex consists of five modern buildings,
which include star-rated hotel rooms, multimedia classrooms and practical simulation
labs. The hotel facilities include a business center, Chinese and western dining halls, a
gym, tennis courts, a net-bar, gardens, a KARAOKE room, a snooker pool room, a table
tennis room, and a chess & card room. These allow trainees to relax outside of training
hours

1.4.1 Partnership
Beijing Co-Exceed Ltd is the affiliated company of ZTE Corporation. ZTE-Consulting,
Co-Exceed Technologies and Co-Exceed Consulting are the three brands of Beijing Co-
Exceed Ltd. ZTE University gives full authorization to Beijing Co-Exceed Ltd to take

Qingda Xieli Technology Co.Ltd.(NC Education Administration Center）is co-founded by

ZTE University and the Engineering Training Center of Qinghua University. It is the first
domestic supplier of network&telecom training designing solutions for institutes, which

3.1.2 Prerequisites
• Fluent English on reading and listening
• With the basic knowledge of mobile communications
• Be familiar with computer operation
• At least one year’s operation and maintenance experience of AN products
3.1.3 Objectives
On completion of this course the participants will be able to:
• Describe the basic structure and features of the ZXMSG 5200 system.
• Describe the functions and features of the ZXMSG 5200 system.
• Describe the hardware configuration of the ZXMSG 5200 system.
• Implement the data configuration of the ZXMSG 5200 system.
• Implement the routine operation and maintenance tasks of the ZXMSG 5200
system.

3.1.4 Delivery Methods

The training will be delivered in the Instructor-led lecture, demonstration and lab format,
with 30% lecture, 20% demonstration and 50% hands-on labs.

• Fluent English on reading and listening

• With the basic knowledge of mobile communications

• At least one year’s operation and maintenance experience of AN products

• Describe the hardware configuration of the ZXMSG 5200 system.
