How to deal to cyber hazards & standards

IEEE 1686 IEC 62443* IEC62351* NERC CIP

There´s different standards to deal to sensitive data protection in a substation. These mechanisms are aligned to the digital substation philosophy once the
data and network communications were expanded with the introduction of process bus. Anyway, more attention is requited from utilities regarding this issue

Atlas Juazeiro substation
- A 230kV substation composed by 2 transmission line and 1 power
transformer;
- The solution applies all resources of IEC 61850-8-1 and 9-2:
▪ PRP network redundancy for station bus using Relion IEDs and
MicroSCADA;

▪ HSR network redundancy for process bus applying SAM600 merging

units;

▪ PTP synchronization concerning about 1 us of accuracy;

▪ Network traffic optimization for better performance;

▪ SMV and GSE available in the process bus network;

▪ Independent busbar voltages process bus network;

▪ No switches (failure points) in process bus application, in a more

robust solution including cyber security approach;

▪ Flexible naming for Logical nodes and data objects;

▪ Totally IEC 61850 Edition 2 compliant.
