I. OBJECTIVES
A. CONTENT STANDARDS The learner acquires knowledge of appropriate
reading strategies for a better understanding of academic
texts.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The learner produces a detailed abstract of
information gathered from the various academic texts
read.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES/OBJECTIVES
Write the LC code for each. At the end of the session, 80% of the learners should be
able to use knowledge of text structure to glean the
information they need.(CS_EN11/12A-EAPP-Ia-c-4)

Analysis (10 minutes). The teacher makes use of the essential questions
below as a clarifying key understanding about the topic at
hand and to elicit the feelings about the activity or the
topic:
1. How did you find the activity?
2. What enabled you to accomplish the task?
3. Why are we doing this activity?
4. What is the importance of having proper
knowledge about text structure?
5. How is it related to getting the information
needed from reading various academic texts?

Abstraction (15minutes). The teacher will discuss further text structure and its
significance to the learners in order to glean the
information they need from reading academic texts.
