Boxing
“A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life”.
Muhammad Ali. This shows the dedication and tenacity that it takes to be a successful person,
but not just as a boxer. Boxers have split-second decisions throughout their fights. The decision
making skills that boxers display are some of the best in the world. Boxers have honed their
decision making skill over the hundreds of hours they spend training. In order for boxers to
maintain skill, they should train and keep a good diet most often.
During training, boxers must jump rope and go running to maintain cardio so they would have
energy for 12 rounds they have to fight in the ring. For example, the people who want to do
boxing have to learn the basics of training, like having stamina, boxers should shadowbox to
see how they would perform in the boxing ring with another opponent. If you want to master at
something in life for example, a boxer, it would take many years of practice and experience to
master the skill you want, because depending on what athletic career you want, you have to
know that you take risks in the sport you want to achieve in. Also, when a boxer is in the ring,
they need to have stamina for when they have to fight their opponent for 12 rounds in
professional debuts. In order to build stamina and endurance, boxers should spar with a partner
to show off their offense, defense, and footwork to their coaches to let them know that the boxer

vitamins, and train most often. Also to become a boxer you need to have athleticism,
concentration, dedication, decision- making skills, and stamina to compete against other
opponents and to accomplish the sport. If a boxer wants to have competition they must register
In the sport of Boxing, most people who want to box have to take precautions in the sport to
avoid injuries. For example, brain damage can really end a career for a boxer, because it can
deteriorate the brain. Also boxers can get concussions and short life expectancy because of the
injuries they have got during their fights and could eventually cause death, either in the ring or
out of it. The people who want to box know the risks they have to take when they are in the ring
and when they come into the sport. But if you want to prevent injuries like brain damage and
other mental and body injuries , you should always “ protect yourself at all times” in the ring like
the referee says before the fight. And also, when your in the ring fighting another opponent or
just training, always listen to your instructor/coach to become better and smarter in boxing,
because mentality is more important than being physical in the ring with the person you are
trying to beat.
To me I feel like boxing is a very competitive sport because you can’t play in boxing, because
the person that is in front of you in the ring, you usually think about trying to knock them down,
knock them out, or dominate all 12 rounds to get a victory. Also in boxing it depends who wants
a victory more and surviving because most likely one person will leave the ring as a winner or
loser after they have battled, because the only people that are fighting in the ring are you and
your opponent trying to win, because the people that support you outside or in the ring can’t
