Comes now, the State of Florida, by and through the undersigned Assistant State
Attorney, and pursuant to Florida Statute 90.404, gives this notice to the defendant of the State's
intent to offer evidence of other crimes, wrongs, or acts, or inextricably intertwined evidence
1. On or about December 13, 2016, Defendant drove to the residence of Sade Dixon, a
woman with whom Defendant was in a relationship and who was pregnant with his child. While
at the residence, Defendant shot Ronald Stewart, Sade Dixon’s brother, and Sade Dixon
repeatedly in the front yard of the house. Dominique Daniels, Ms. Dixon’s younger brother and
Stephanie Dixon-Daniels, Ms. Dixon’s mother, went outside when they heard gunshots and saw
both Mr. Stewart and Ms. Dixon on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They
also saw Defendant running to his vehicle. As Ms. Daniels and Ms. Dixon-Daniels attempted to
render aid to the victims, Defendant fired several rounds toward them, causing them to retreat.
Defendant fled the scene in his vehicle and police and paramedics responded shortly thereafter.
Ms. Dixon died as a result of gunshot wounds. Mr. Stewart suffered multiple gunshot wounds,
but survived. Crime scene investigators processed the scene and located 11 .40 caliber spent
shell casings in the yard near the victims as well as along the path of travel Defendant took as he
fled to his car. Charges as a result of this event are currently before the court in the instant case
2016-CF-015738.
2. On or about January 9, 2017, Defendant did, from a premeditated design to effect the
death of Lt. Debra Clayton, a human being, did unlawfully and kill Debra Clayton, a law
enforcement officer for the Orlando Police Department, while Debra Clayton was engaged in the
lawful performance of a legal duty. On January 9, 2017, a witness, aware that a warrant for the
arrest of the Defendant had been issued as a result of the events describe in paragraph 1, saw the
Defendant at a Wal-Mart. This information was conveyed to Orlando Police Department Lt.
Debra Clayton who standing outside of the entrance to Wal-Mart. Lt. Clayton notified dispatch
that she needed backup because Defendant, wanted for the Dixon homicide, was located inside
Wal-Mart. Lt. Clayton confronted Defendant and stated, “Get on the ground.” Defendant shot
Lt. Clayton multiple times resulting in her death. Crime scene investigators collected a variety
of .40 caliber shell casings at the scene, as well as projectiles from Lt. Clayton’s body and
various vehicle that were struck during the shooting. Defendant remained at large until his
arrest. These charges are currently before the Court in case 2017-CF-826.
3. On January 17, 2017, Defendant was arrested for the homicides of Sade Dixon and Lt.
Debra Clayton, as well as other crimes surrounding those events. A Smith & Wesson .40 caliber
firearm was seized from the Defendant when he was arrested. The firearm was sent to Florida
Department of Law Enforcement for analysis and comparison to the casings collected from the
Dixon and Clayton homicide scenes. Analyst Richard Ruth confirmed that the Smith & Wesson,
seized from the Defendant, fired the shell casings collected at both the Dixon and Clayton
homicide scenes. Analyst Ruth also determined that the same Smith & Wesson .40 caliber
firearm, fired the projectiles recovered from Lt. Clayton’s body and projectiles removed from the
