Introduction
A new generation of FGL 1363 inductive
sensor has been introduced.
Problems
In a few cases the previous version of the
speed sensor (ST173 & ST174) has been
suspected to cause shutdown when
failing.
Validity / Issue
Until further notice
Introduction
A new generation of FGL 1363 inductive sensor was introduced in production in May
2013. This new type of sensor can better withstand the heat and vibration.
The sensors are interchangeable with previous version which means wiring
connections and threads are identical.
Therefore the new type is automatically supplied when ordering a senor as spare part.
Identification
The old type of the FGL 1363 inductive sensor can be identified from the sensors
identification number, see Figure 2.
The old sensor models are listed below:
FGL01363K Hn
FGL01363SC Hn
FGL01363-1K Hn
FGL01363-1SC Hn
FGL01363K-1 Hn
FGL01363-1K-1 Hn
Recommendation
It is recommended to install the new type of FGL 1363 inductive sensor. In a few cases
the previous version has been suspected to cause shutdown when the sensor used as
speed sensor (ST173 & ST174) has failed.
Ordering
Contact your closest Wärtsilä Services Network. When ordering, please specify the
engine serial number and part number.
NOTE:
See the engine specific spare part catalogue for the part numbers.
The speed sensors are available at a reduced price when ordering before 30th June
