MGA Meeting Minutes May 30, 2019

• Review Founders Cup Event:
There were favorable comments from players. The Sunday lunch at the turn was
well received. There was, however, an issue related to the payouts for winners.
The issue raised concerns about how issues should be addressed and resolved.
In the future players who have issues will be asked to submit their issue in writing
to the MGA. The MGA Committee will work with the Pro Shop to resolve the
issue and will respond to the player in writing.
• The Burden One Day Event has been rescheduled for June 28th.
This is an MGA Member/member or MGA member/Woodside member event. All
play will be from the Burden tees. Sign up as a two-man team. The Pro Shop will
then assign each two-man team with another two-man team to form a four-man
team whose total handicap closely matches the field. Each four-man team will then
compete in18 holes of two better ball net, using one ball from each two-man team.
This is a net-only event.
• Other Topics Discussed:
o A notice to competitors will be sent to players after the event sign up period is
closed. The notice will include format, purse distribution, inclement weather,
flights, ties, scoring, and eligibility.
o A review of winners from 2017 and 2018 showed that 2/3 of the players in MGA
events won at least one first place finish (either gross or net).
o Methods for posting winners and payouts were reviewed. The MGA will
investigate ways for presenting payouts at the conclusion of an event.
