PICTO-NARRATIVE REPORT
ON INVESTITURE AND BACKYARD ENCAMPMENT
S.Y. 2018-2019

Aiming to provide opportunity to every students to practice being independent,

learn teamwork and improve their communication skills, all in supervised and
collaborative environment, Saysain Elementary School conducted a school-based
Investiture and Backyard Encampment last March 22-23, 2019 at Saysain, Bagac,
Bataan.
The two-day backyard encampment started by investing the Twinkler Scouts,
Star Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts, KID Scouts, KAB Scouts and Junior Boy Scouts. Also,
new adult leaders were also invested spearheaded by troop leaders and investing
officers Ma’am Lorna Saanchez and Ma’am Remelinda Pabustan. The investiture began
by the entrance of colors and singing of the national anthem lead by Ma’am May Ann
Martin followed by a prayer. After the investiture, scouts showered the venue with their
energetic and enthusiastic dance presentations.
Also, as part of the first day of the event the backyard encampment was joined
by Junior Boy Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts. Through the Barangay Chairman and
Council, the school requested security for the Backyard camping from Day 1 up to Day
2. After the tents were all settled, Ma’am Suzette Labampa and Sir Rabbi Marc Gonzales
discussed and oriented every camper about the house rules. Junior Girl Scouts did an
arts and crafts activity wherein they need to create a home display while Junior Boy
Scouts were tasked to make a collage out of scraps they found around the vicinity.
Afterwards, the campers were tasked to prepare and cook their food for dinner. During
the evening, a campfire ceremony was held. Every camper enjoyed showcasing various
campfire presentations including dancing, choral singing and acting. Those activities are
fun with an important purpose; to strengthen group connections, improve
communication and build trust.
The second day of the event began early through body conditioning and zumba
dance exercises lead by Ma’am Wendy Arasan and Sir Allan Paulo Sunga. The camp also
provided a safe place for the students to to try new things and challenge them in an
obstacle course. They also created their own patrol yells. These outdoor experiences
promote healthy social and physical development. Indeed, it was a successful two-day
event.
