I observed that medical marijuana is a debatable topic because people can not decide if it
should be legal or illegal. The major concern about marijuana is that it isn’t a ordinary
medication and it is seen more as a drug, most believe that it is not a good consumer. Marijuana
should be legal because it can be helpful to those who are sick and it will be good for the
economy. The controversy is being brought by those who are not open minded to modern
medicine. These people are not allowing marijuana to be a source when it should be according to
the benefits it has. Doctors can use marijuana as a medication that can serve as well or even
better for patients who are in need. Marijuana is more affordable for most as well.

For instance, not many physicians provide marijuana as a medication for patients who are
in need to use it due to their illness. Having medical marijuana is safe to prescribe because the
medication only goes out to those who are desperately in need for it. The Very Healthwell
Organization says, “Allows registered qualifying patients (who must have a physician's written
certification that they have been diagnosed with a debilitating condition and that they would
likely receive benefit from marijuana) to obtain marijuana from a registered nonprofit
dispensary”. The marijuana medication is recommended to patients that have chronic pain,
seizures, depression, and cancer. Medical marijuana is only on medication and it can cure or help
many patients while other medications can do so little for patients. The safety of medical
marijuana is by the physicians because they only prescribe to those that qualify for it.

As a result, Medical marijuana has brought extraordinary income to the United States
poverty . Medical marijuana is being brought by cannabis businesses such as in the text it says,
“​The legal marijuana industry generated $7.2 billion in economic activity in 2016, and added
millions of dollars in federal taxes paid by cannabis businesses. [​20​] One study on adult-use
marijuana in Nevada projected $7.5 billion in economic activity over the first seven years of
legalization, including $1.7 billion in labor income”. By having a investment on medical
marijuana, it can bring money to federal taxes. This is something good, having federal tax money
can provide health insurances to those who are in need of it. The United States can make profit
of this medication . This medication is less expensive to the consumers, money will keep coming
in since consumers will keep purchasing medical marijuana due to the price of it.

Even though marijuana can assist with medical diseases and positively contribute to the
nation's economy, it can also increase crime because non-medical consumers may abuse of the
access. According to AllSides organization, “ too many lives are being destroyed. Hundreds of
thousands of people get criminal records. You know why? Because they have smoked
marijuana”. This evidence demonstrates the actions of those who take advantage of legalization
of medical marijuana aren’t with good intentions. These consumers are being caught with
obtaining the marijuana and not being certified to get the marijuana for it’s good needs.
According to the fact of non-medical consumers, this is affecting them because it hunts them
down in their crime record. However, this wouldn’t be an issue if the physicians had a more

strictly system of certifying those who are in actual need of it. People who are exposed to
marijuana only have this problem. There must be requirements of why approaching medical
marijuana and what they’re using it for. Therefore, it would not be easy to have medical
marijuana in hands of those who don’t need it.

In conclusion, medical marijuana is a good treatment for illnesses and good for bringing
awareness to the economy. With having medical marijuana it can be a good medication that
provides similar impacts in which such medication already have. This can be a less expensive
medication for those who do not have health insurance. Since the consumers that do not have
health insurance are the ones purchasing medical marijuana, the economy is getting money from
cannabis businesses that pay federal taxes to the U.S . Not mentioning that the U.S. save money
on not giving out health insurances. The word marijuana is already sounding negative, the idea
of marijuana being a benefit to the medical world is great. Do not let people’s opinion trick your
thoughts of goods.
