REACTION PAPER

Socrates
Although Socrates lived a very long time ago, his teachings and the way he thought captivates
people even years after his death.Socrates was always searching for answers, and held true
towhat he believed even if it was unpopular. When it came to his death, he died in a way that
hefelt was right.Socrates was not afraid to teach what he believed was true which got him
intotrouble with people who had a problem with this. He challenged many things that leaders of
thecurrent time held as truth. Socrates did not conform, and liked to think deeper and not
necessarilyalways go with what the popular belief was. This made Socrates some enemies and he
eventuallystood before a court that would decide his fate. Although it was not unanimous and
many stoodwith him, Socrates was sentenced to death.

Climate Change

Climate includes patterns of temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and seasons. "Climate
change" affects more than just a change in the weather, it refers to seasonal changes over a long
period of time. These climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems,
and the human economies and cultures that depend on them.
Because so many systems are tied to climate, a change in climate can affect many related aspects
of where and how people, plants and animals live, such as food production, availability and use
of water, and health risks.
For example, a change in the usual timing of rains or temperatures can affect when plants bloom
and set fruit, when insects hatch or when streams are their fullest. This can affect historically
synchronized pollination of crops, food for migrating birds, spawning of fish, water supplies for
drinking and irrigation, forest health, and more.

Reconstructivist
Most of the learners of today are focused in using Traditional System of learning among their
learners. They are using the common Objectivist/Behaviorist style of learning. They treat
knowledge as if it was just simply transferring from teachers to students wherein the students
learn what they hear and what they read. Also for them learning can be seen as successful if the
learners or students can repeat what was taught to them. The learner in this case was just
absorbing everything what their mind can accept but did not understand it’s meaning and
essence. In this situation implementing the usage of the so called “Constructivism” will
contribute a lot in creating a new system of learning among the learners that will respond to their
learning capacities.

Seigmund
His endowed theory demonstrated that humans are complicated beings and in so doing postulated a
thorough insight. Apart from the unconscious he speculated that the preconscious and conscious
are the other divisions of the mind. Unique to his theory was the three levels of personality the id,
ego and superego. Since Human beings are driven by needs and instincts their goal is to be made
happy where the id acts solely on impulse and is irrational, the ego realistically satisfies the id, and
the superego as the template from which the ego harvest what is acceptable to relieve the id.
Freud was also known for the psychosexual stages of development:
He demonstrated that the adult personality is characterized by the child’s experiences during these
stages.

Drug Addiction
One of the most controversial topics of our time is drug addiction. To get more specific about
what drug addiction is, one must understand how addiction is defined. It is a chronic, relapsing
brain disease that is characterized by constantly seeking the use of a substance, no matter how
harmful the consequences are. The jump from labeling something as an addiction, then suddenly
realizing that it is directly referring to a brain disease is pretty extreme. The part that makes this
type of an addiction a disease is the fact that the use of these drugs actually changes the brain in a
negative way, and can harm the structure as well as effect the way the brain functions.

A big argument that many people have regarding this sad epidemic is that drug addiction does
not come as the fault of an individual who suffers from it, but rather the blame lies on the rest of
society and the influences that are present today. We live in an age where many times we find
people encouraging the idea of trying everything at least once in your life just to say you did it.
From peer pressure, media influence, and even self-curiosity, drugs are slowly becoming more
and more integrated into our lives.

Robert Gagne’s Conditions of
Learning
In Conditions of Learning (Gagne 1985), Gagne (informally referred to as the father of
instructional technology) has created a masterful book on the principles and theory of learning,
as well as prescriptions for designing instruction based on that theory. His book is extremely
well-organized, and highly structured. The chapters follow effective conventions and Gagne
previews, elaborates on, summarizes, and repeats topics effectively. This book is clearly highly
influential- Google Scholar shows that it has been cited over two thousand times.
Rather than comment on this book in its entirety, I will briefly highlight some of the main points
of Conditions of Learning and compare it with classic and contemporary literature. I will also
attempt to briefly compare some of the prevalent thoughts on learning and instruction and will
highlight the changes that have taken place since the writing of this foundational book. Table 1
summarizes some of the key points of Gagne’s Conditions of Learning. Each of these topics will
be discussed in greater detail throughout this paper.

Dress Code
Over the years, student dress codes have sought to address a wide range of issues and have
incited different degrees of controversy. For example, in the late 1960s and 70s, young men with
long hair were sometimes physically attacked by their classmates and, as a result, many schools
required boys to wear their hair cut to their ears or shorter. In the 1990s, there was a push for
dress codes as a strategy to prevent gang-related violence. In recent years, a desire to curb
conflict over designer labels and create a more “professional” school environment resulted in
dress codes and uniforms becoming more popular.

Education Technology
IT based projects are really helpful in the process of educating the students. In the part of the
teacher, it is easier for them to teach using the aided material because it will help them to explain
the topic and also easier for the students to identify if what the teacher wanted to infer to them.
The skills of the students are the one being concerned for the process is more important than the
product. The process takes steps and effort to know how the project is completed. It really needs
patience to teach the students and to become a teacher in the new generation of the students.
There are different ways of learning. It might be through application or in discovering ones study
to know the relevance of it. There are also learning strategies that involve instructions or the step
by step way of teaching.
