 An Affair to Remember: A Reaction Paper

The movie “An Affair to Remember” considered to be one of the most romantic movie of
all time which depicts the story of a man and a woman who find their true love even if they were
in separate relationship with other. True love was really unintentionally and unknowingly to find
and finding true love makes finding the right man or woman whom you can share your love
deeply and affectionately. The setting of the movie was somewhere romantic. The ship where
true love finds them and one of the most memorable places was the scenery of the famous
Empire State Building where they choose to see each other because they believe that it is the
closest thing or place to Heaven during that time.

The most tragic and saddest part for me was when Terry accidentally hit by a car while
crossing the street going to the Empire State Building to see Nickie and gravely injured resulting
for her to unable to walk. But despite of challenges they faced, in the end, it was not still a
hindrance that may not end their relationship because true love really conquers all. Likely,
Nickie was intimately a well-known playboy but when he met Terry, there are changes that make
Nickie a better person and be able to find his true love. What they do not expect also was to find
true love along their way and realize later they’ve fallen in love with each other. The most
romantic scene of the movie was in the last scene where Nickie felt sorry for Terry for not
knowing what really happen that day. Nevertheless, their true love continues and it was really
powerful. Even Terry can’t walk, it was not a hindrance for Nickie to stop loving her because the
most important what he believed was what his heart is saying.

The movie was a common story for many lovers where they’ve find true love
unintentionally and accidentally. The movie was a very good movie that combines romance,
comedy, tragedy and essence of true love. It was somewhat similar to the movie “A Letters to
Juliet” where love finds them unaware and unintentionally. It is truly a fact that love really
conquers all.

The movie was an interesting movie about true love and how powerful love is. Love can
find you anytime and what only you can do is to accept it. What I’ve learned in the movie was
true love really exists and true love leads to acceptance who you are and what you are.
