Consisted of daily observation and instruction of 10 th & 12th grade students in a co-taught,
honors/advanced, and IB ELA classroom. Lead teacher of at least one of the three preps for 30
out of 33 weeks. Lead teacher of all three preps for 10 out of 33 weeks. Planned & instructed three
10th grade Honors units, one 12th grade IB unit & one 10th grade Co-Taught unit. Polished
instructional strategies to more effectively implement and adapt daily lesson plans to fit student’s
individual learning needs; exercised knowledge of dialogic instruction and implemented it within
three varying levels of ELA curricula; broadened repertoire of classroom management strategies.

Pre-Internship Field Experience:


Fall 2017 Haslett High School, Haslett, MI
Placement included four hours a week observation and working with 12th grade students in an
English classroom. Worked with small groups on a wide variety of assignments, graded papers,
and assisted with other classroom duties. Taught a mini-lesson on academic discourse. Learned
important classroom management skills, strategies to connect with students, and innovative ways
to design lessons and rubrics.

Spring 2017 Waverly Middle School, Waverly, MI


Placement included one hour a week observation and working with 7 th grade students in an
English classroom, and one hour a week as a tutor in reading instruction with an 8 th grade
student. Taught a grammar lesson to a 7th grade class on four main comma rules. Taught reading
strategies to 8th grade student. Learned about classroom management skills and how to effectively
scaffold lessons.

Placement included two hours a week observation and working with 11th grade students in an
English class. Worked with individual students and with small groups of students on class
assignments, quizzes and homework. Learned strategies that are more effective during individual
