Mariam tea party fun

Learning priority: curiosity about the world and the ability and inclination to share
interests with others (Te Whariki curriculum Exploration/Mana aoturoa).

Mariam, I have been very pleased to see you develop your friendship with Lara. You
both have busy nature, with your own fixed ideas how to play, which can in turn
cause disagreements between two girls.
I was greatly pleased during this month to observe your shared imagined play! For
what seemed like whole afternoon, you were deeply engaged in your play of setting
tables and having tea parties. There was so much talk and busyness, finding
kitchen-y items and setting them between two tables inside the room. Occasionally
when finished you sat down to enjoy your… lunch? Maybe a restaurant quality meal.
What a brilliant learning between Mariam and Lara, and as cherry on top; both of you
when finished put the items back to the shelves. I was proud how you had learned,
that part of any play is to take care of the environment and tidy up!
