Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

DATE: January 8, 2019

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. identify and use adjectives in a sentence;
2. use the different kinds of adjectives in a sentence, and;
3. apply the significance of using the different kinds of adjectives in daily life situations.

III. LESSON PROPER

1.) Review/Drill
(The teacher will ask a question in regards to the past lesson.)

2.) Presentation of the Lesson


(The teacher will present the lesson in a collaborative way.

3.) Motivation
(The teacher will do a game entitled “Give me an Adjectives”. In this game the selected
student will pull a paper inside the mini box. Written inside the pieces of paper are the alphabet.
The students will give at least three words that start with alphabet they will be pulled. )

4.) Discussion
The kinds of adjectives are the following attributive adjectives (adjectives that comes
before the noun), predicate adjectives (adjectives that are placed after linking verbs), descriptive
adjectives (adjectives that give color and vividness to persons, places, or things they describes),
limiting adjectives (indicate how many, how much, whose, which one, etc. to limit the words they
modify, and forming adjectives.
Descriptive adjectives may be common or proper. Common Descriptive Adjectives
are not capitalized while Proper Descriptive Adjectives are always capitalized. Under Limiting
Adjective are the following Articles, Adjectives of Number, Nouns as Adjectives, and Pronouns as
Adjectives while in Forming Adjectives under it were Adjectives derived from Verbs and
Adjectives formed by compounding.
5.) Activity
(The students will answer the activities written in their workbook.)

6.) Summary/ Generalization


(The teacher will ask the students to explain what they have understand about Adjectives
and it’s kind.)

7.) Value Integration


(The teacher will ask the student what is the essence of studying the future tense form of
verb.)

8.) Evaluation / Assessment


(The teacher will assess the learning of the students through giving a quiz.)

(The teacher will let the students to listen on a song and they will list all the adjectives
that they will hear.)

4.) Discussion
The degrees of comparison of adjectives are positive, comparative, and superlative.
Positive refers on one person only while comparative degree is used to compare two persons or
things. In superlative, three or more person or things are being compared.

5.) Activity
(The students will answer the activities written in their workbook.)
Directions: Underline the correct adjective to complete each 0f the following sentences.
1-2.The hummingbird is the (smaller, smallest) bird, the ostrich is the (larger, largest) that
cannot fly.
3. The California condor is one of the (more endangered, most endangered) of all vultures.

(The teacher will present the meaning of adverbs and its different kinds.)

3.) Motivation
(The teacher will do a game entitled “Adverb Showdown”. The teacher will divide the
class into two groups. Each group will list all the adverbs they know within five minutes. The
group who enlisted lots of adverb will be the winner.)

4.) Discussion
(Adjective are words that modify the verb, adjective, another adverb and even the whole
sentence. The five kinds of adverb are adverb of time, place, manner, intensity, and frequency.)

5.) Activity
Directions: In each of the following sentences, indicate whether the underlined words or phrase
is an adverb of Manner (M), time (T), place (P), frequency (F), or intensity (I).

bird on different place of the box. The students will identify where the bird is through lining to the
correct preposition.)

(Prepositions show the relationship of a word to other words in the sentences.)

Directions: Fill in the blanks with on, in, and at to complete the sentences.
