√1788 + ∛3467

Sorry!! I hate maths

Ok you can use calculator.

Oh yeeeeeaahhhhh! ans

Mathematics is not all about solving questions. It is a formula itself

to transform yourself into a better human beings, It makes you

creative , inculcates rational thinking , logical thinking , problem

solving techniques.
Geometry

The word geometry is derived from the Greek word “Geo” and “matron” which means
Earth and measurement resp.
Euclid is considered to be the “Father of Geometry.”
The branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relation of points, lines,
surfaces, solid and higher dimensional analog.

APPLICATIONS OF GEOMETRY
 Astronomy and physics
 Architecture
 Art
 Geographic information systems
 Technology

Explanation
Harry : Heyy tom can you imagine, our Earth, moon and other planets revolve around
the sun!
Tom : ohh really ! Then why don’t they collapse with each other?
Harry : because they always remains at a distance?
Tom : distance! how can we calculate the distance between the objects which is very far
from us?
Harry : simply by using geometry!
Tom : how?
You know Geometry is used in astronomy and physics in many ways. Use of geometry
is to find the distance between celestial bodies such as stars and planets. For example if
we form a triangle, we know one of the sides and the angle at which the telescope is
looking at then we can find the other side. A simple trigonometric ratios, sine, cosine
and tangent is used but other uses of geometry include measuring the speed and
velocity of planets orbiting other stars.

Sin = Ratio of perpendicular and the height of a right angled triangle = p/h
cos = Ratio of base and the height of a right angled triangle = b/h
tan = Ratio of perpendicular and the base of a right angled triangle = p/b

Explanations:
So, students do you have heard about Ronaldo and Messi??
Expected Ans : yes/no
What they do??
EA : plays football
Ok, all right
Now tell me, what exactly the player do while taking a corner?
EA : Strike the football
Ok, do we observe any space between path of football and the ground?
Is this space will remain same, if he collect the ball and strike again?
EA : yes/no, give reasons for both.
TE: it may be, but the space depends upon how much football initially lifted upward
making a gap between the path of the football and the ground.

Now tell me

If Messi kicks a football at a speed of 150km/h and he is standing at a distance of 20m

from the goal post. Then how much time it required to reach the goal post?

Let’s see this clock

It’s 9 o’clock. Can we see the position of minute hand and the right hand.
If we call minute hand as initial ray and the hour hand as the final ray
Then angle is nothing but the space between initial ray and the final ray.
Angle : The space between initial ray and the final ray.
Now ,tell me what happens when the time becomes 3:15pm?
What can you say about the angle?

Application of geometry in architecture

Triangle
Now can you think any closed figure containing 2 angles?
Ofcourse not!
any closed figure containing 3 angles is known as triangle. And it has 3 sides,3 vertex.
So, students can you guess, why we study triangle?
Ans. Because triangle is most stable geometry.
You can see below in the picture, structure of building is made, triangle shaped.
Don’t you think square and rectangle shapes are also used. Look around yourself and
observe are they made up of rectangles/squares?

Pythagoras theorem
Students, have you seen how electricians repair street bulbs?
They use ladder to climb. Do you know how the length of ladder is calculated? Let’s
find out.

c
a

b
let there be a 3 squares of different sides a, b and c joined edge to edge.
Now we measure the area of all the 3 squares. Pythagoras theorem says that square on
hypogenous is equal to sum of squares on the two legs
a 2 + b2 = c 2
Application of Pythagoras theorem
 Architecture and construction
Given two straight lines, the Pythagorean Theorem allows us to calculate the length of
the diagonal connecting them. This application is frequently used in architecture,
woodworking, or other physical construction projects. For instance, say we are building
a sloped roof. If we know the height of the roof and the length for it to cover, we can use
the Pythagorean Theorem to find the diagonal length of the roof's slope. we can use
this information to cut properly sized beams to support the roof, or calculate the area of
the roof that we would need to shingle.

 The Pythagorean Theorem is also used in construction to make sure buildings are
square. A triangle whose side lengths correspond with the Pythagorean Theorem – such
as a 3 foot by 4 foot by 5-foot triangle – will always be a right triangle. When laying out
a foundation, or constructing a square corner between two walls, construction workers
will set out a triangle from three strings that correspond with these lengths. If the string
lengths were measured correctly, the corner opposite the triangle's hypotenuse will be
a right angle, so the builders will know they are constructing their walls or foundations
on the right lines.
Application of geometry in art
What does art include? Art is about the formation of figures & shapes,
estimation, patterns & measurement.

Application of geometry in SPORTs

Those who likes to play cricket raise your hands?
And what are the other sports do u like?
Where do u play?
Almost all the sports equipment and the ground where it is played are in geometrical
shapes like rectangle, squares, circle etc.

Cricket ground

Cricket ground
Basket ball court
Tell me what games do you play, with what equipment and where do you play?
Now tell me the shapes one by one.

Geographic information systems

Students, do u have heard about GPS? where?
What is it?
Do you have used google map on your android phone and why?

satellite
GPS is Global Positioning System (GPS) which is installed in a satellite and also in our
smart phones. It provides information about the location and time. Using it GPS
employs calculate the distance between any two places

GPS

A B
By help of GPS we get distance between any two places.
And time can also be calculate by using distance(length) and speed the vehicle by
which you are travelling on that particular road.

Application Geometry in technology

Have you seen robots walking?
It always walks in a straight line. Turns at right angle again walks in a straight line.
Shape of robots are formed from some geometrical structure like square, rectangular,
circular etc.
Do you play video games? How many of you have played PUBG?

For characters, trees, mountain, houses as shown in the picture, the video game
maker uses geometry like circle, square, rectangle etc.
So, behind all these, geometrical concepts are being used.
