Company Background

Lasar Fast-food & Restaurant was established in the year 1980. It was a sole proprietorship

business owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Arceño. The business name was a combined family

name of the parents of Mrs. Arceño, Latorre and Sarmiento. The business idea came from the owners’

mother who has the passion in cooking. Her mother started to cook different kinds of dessert like cassava

cake, “biko” and “suman” and sell it using a cart as their first menu. By the determination of her parents,

they established Lasar and became well known in their place. The restaurant is located at T. Salado St.

Brgy. Four, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.

Lasar offers local dishes like adobo, afritada, and some kinds of vegetables. Their best sellers are

sotanghon and lomi. The business opens from 7:00am-6:30pm Monday to Saturday.

In the year 2007 Mr. and Mrs. Sarmiento the parents of Mrs. Lynie Arceño turned-over the

business to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Arceño. In that year, the couple decided to renovate the restaurant to

have a new ambiance that is accommodating for their customers.

The Industry

The food service industry encompasses all the activities, services and business functions

preparing and servicing food to the people eating away from home. This industry all types of restaurants

from fine dining to fast food, the food services industry is always remain in a high demand because of its

genre. Economic and social condition here favorable to the fast food industry. It purchasing power

pushed are even higher frequency of spending on food and the increasing business life style.

Lazar's target market are the students & workers near the establishment. They also offers catering

services such as birthdays wedding, debut and other occasions to have more customers in different way

that will make them more satisfied. Lazar aims to reach consumer of different schools & establishment

on other area of the municipality. There are different reason for students and workers to dine in fast food

restaurants, first is that it’s convenient, second it’s cheap, and third is that it’s fast that it fits their busy

schedule.
