Expression through Form

Form aims to create an interaction with humans and to enhance the attractiveness by creating an
abstract by using natural material .

The current generation is so much surrounded by technology that they have forgotten about the nature.
The indifference caused by lack of emotional connect has pushed most of the birds to the edge of
extinction. The form is evolved from the Wing of a bird and thus conveys the extinction of bird
species. The form not only acts as an abstract structure but also provides food and shelter for birds.

“The relationship between humankind and nature can be one of respect and love rather than
domination.The outcome can be rich, satisfying, and lastingly successful. Creating a new environments
that are ecologically sound, aesthetically satisfying, economically rewarding.This process of reciprocal
adaptation occurs through minor changes in the people and their environment, but a more conscious
process of design can also take place.”

Concept:
Biophilic Design : An architectural framework that weaves the patterns and forms of nature into the
built environment to strengthen the human-nature connection.

The form will have both feeder and shelter for birds. Most bright colors, however, can be used to
attract birds, with certain bird species being more attracted to particular shades. Natural camouflage
colors such as grey, brown and green are excellent choices to attract birds

The abstract form is designed in such a way that it has both vertical and horizontal bamboo poles. The
vertical bamboo acts as a shelter whereas the horizontal bamboo serves food . It is an ultimate home for
birds and also a great decorative abstract form for both indoor and outdoors. The Bamboo poles are
attached by means of coir fibres and screws.

The usage of natural materials for feeders and shelters will attract a wide range of birds and make
them feel secured. By offering a wide variety of natural materials, will create a unique and rewarding
experience.

The abstract form has a skeleton bamboo structure and wherein the bamboo poles are attached to the
skeleton by means of coir fibre and screws . The entire bamboo form is screwed to the wooden board
for better stability.

The whole form is 4’ in height and is 4’x4’(base), the bamboos used in this form vary in sizes in order to
withstand the weight of the structure.
