How the Ottawa Senators Could Benefit From Networking
Customers
There are many ways in which the
Ottawa Senator’s clients/customers
would benefit from the use of Networks.
For example, using networks for
communication could help the regular
Ottawa Senators Customers by alerting
them to the timings/dates of upcoming
local games, thus making it easier for
them to decide when they want to attend
their next hockey game. This can be
done either by email, or by setting up a
website to make the information available
to the public. Another way that
communication via a network would be
helpful to customers is by emailing each
customer their personal order
receipt/tickets to upcoming games that
they buy. By sharing these files as
attachments through email, the
customers have the convivence of having
these files electronically, so they can use
them on their phones.
Suppliers/Vendors
Supplies would also benefit from the use
of networks by the Ottawa Senators. By
using client/servers, suppliers could log
into the server and access document
pertaining to which shops in the
Canadian Tire Center they supply
products to and keep track of what they
need to ship to them and when it needs
to be done. In addition, email could be
used to tell suppliers when the CTC is
closed and/or rented out to someone
else, and if that affects their shipments.
Marketing
The Ottawa Senators would greatly
benefit from the use of networks in their
marketing. For example, they could
create a website to share information
with the public and promote the
events/games that are coming up. In
addition, they could promote the selling
of novelty items on their website, even
selling some online, which helps to
promote their team. In addition, they can
use emailing to communicate with their
customers, and send out emails that
promote special events to customers
who have signed up for emails.
Reducing Costs
Networking will reduce the costs for the
Ottawa Senators in many ways. One way
is in regards to marketing, as just
discussed above. By utilizing their
network to advertise their team,
upcoming games/events, and products,
the Senators will end up paying less for
their overall marketing costs, by
effectively having to pay for fewer tv/radio
advertisements, and paper
advertisements. While there are some
costs to the start-up and up-keeping of
networks, it will cost significantly less
than paying for expensive broadcasting
of their advertisements on other forms of
media. In addition, utilizing some of the
ideas presented in the first paragraph
that will help customers will also help
reduce costs for the team, specifically by
saving money when transferring
documents electronically vs. using paper.
