Start Book Title Reading Rate End Result: Finished or Dropped Notes
Date & Author’s Last Name Pages Per (Page where you ended)
Week
9/15 Sea of Trolls 70 Dropped 😵 (Page: 107) Worst book ever; slow plot!
Farmer I abandoned it 107 pages in!
9/17 Maze Runner 80 Finished 😊 (Page: 374) Awesome characters - can’t wait to
Dashner begin Scorch Trials!
9/9 Looking for Alaska 80 Finished 😊 (Page: 219) I loved the intense plot of this book!
Green Humor was entwined with loss- this
book truly reinvented the wheel.
9/17 Say What You Will 110 Finished 😊 (Page: 343) The book was mediocre- the theme was
McGovern conveyed in an abstract manner that
wasn’t neccasarily effective.
9/23 Holding Up the Universe 110 Finished 😊 (Page: 387) Among the best books I have ever read-
Niven romance is integrated to the plot in a
subtle way that captures readers so
that romance is integrated more as a
feeling and less an event. Often times
authors struggle to capture a
meaningful plotline when they are too
foucsed on the development of
romance, but I feel Niven had no
troubles with this.
9/28 As Brave As You 160 Finished 😊 (Page: 410) OK book- the plotline didn’t capture a
Reynolds meaningful conflict.
10/12 The Memory of Light 1oo Finished 😊 (Page: 324) The conflict encompassed the
Stork characters in their internal struggles,
redefining the conflict as internal and
external.
10/15 All the Bright Places 90 Finished 😊 (Page: 378) The way that romance, drama, and loss
Niven were integrated into the plot was
original and better connected the
reader with characters. Each topic had
little elements integrated into the plot,
the romance for the love of Jack and
Tibby, the drama for the envy within
each character bond, and the loss of
Tibby’s mother.
10/21 The Sin Eater’s Daughter 70 Finished 😊 (Page: 312) This book was an interestng twist on a
Salisbury typical medieval tale. The way the
author used a demented love trangle in
a unique setting captivated readers.
10/27 Maximum Ride 160 Finished 😊 (Page: 432) This book did a great job of using sci-fi
Patterson elements in a modern setting to create
a humorous and enjoyable read.
11/2 The Sun is Also a Star 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 344) This book was very inspirational and
Yoon made me laugh and cry all at the same
time when the romance had undergone
trouble. In these times of trouble, the
author implemented comic relief
through relevant irony.
11/12 How to Disappear 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 376) This was a moving tale of a teenage girl
Roat who wants to go unnoticed. The
plotline was original and suspenseful.
11/16 The Sleeping Prince 70 Finished 😊 (Page: 336) This book showcased Salisbury’s
Salisbury captivating writing style through a new
perspective. It tied up many loose ends
of The Sin Eater’s Daughter.
11/22 Everything, Everything 200 Finished 😊 (Page: 306) Yoon continues to overwhelm me with
Yoon her moving romances. She is able to
capture the emotion and personality of
a girl who isn’t exposed to the world in
a vivid and descriptive sense.
11/23 Destined to Live 150 Finished 😊 (Page: 156) This memoir is both shocking and
Greener eye-opening. The memoir offers a
lesser used perspective on the
Holocaust.
11/25 Between Shades of Gray 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 342) The book broadened my emotional
Supytus range and philosophical understanding
of the world in a way in which I
appreciate things often taken for
granted. The way that the author was
able to make me connect to the
protagonist and her tradgedies was
completely earth-shattering.
12/1 Scarecrow Queen 70 Finished 😊 (Page: 373) This book brought much awaited
Salsbury closure to the trilogy. The book was
both intense and suspensful.

Powell expressed the struggles of interracial
couples of the time period while
allowing the reader to make inferences
and predictions.
12/10 Twilight 100 Finished 😊 (Page: 498) This is a suspenseful and captivating
Meyer first start to the series! I can’t wait to
read New Moon!
12/15 New Moon 100 Finished 😊 (Page: 563) Meyer has an uncontested ability to
Meyer allow the reader to critically think about
the text to deepen their knowledge
through foreshadowing and debatable
topics of love and regret. This book was
addictive and unpredictable!
12/22 Eclipse 100 Finished 😊 (Page: 629) The author was able to successfully
Meyer execute the plot of a demented love
triangle with the twist of sci-fi
characters. I am excited to finish the

books by Meyer.
12/26 Breaking Dawn 100 Finished 😊 (Page: 754) Meyer was able to include the intense
Meyer plot elements of the other books in the
series while also bringing closure to the
books. I consider this as one of my
favorite series!
1/2 If I Stay 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 234) This book was equally enticing,
Forman heartbreaking, and moving. Forman
was able to express the feelings of
someone in a coma through memories
and 3rd person omniscient narration
during an out of body experience.
1/4 Where She Went 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 260) The new perspective helped me
Forman understand the purpose of plot events,
and the underlying theme that love
conquers all adversity. I was thrilled
that the characters succeed in the
conclusion!
1/7 The Leaving 190 Finished 😊 (Page: 421) This book was full of plot twists,
Alterbrando suspense, and an extreme scare factor!

Condie a dystopian love triangle to make for an
interesting book, I truly enjoyed this
book. I can’t wait to start Crossed!
1/14 Crossed 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 367) This book features a more survivalist
Condie perspective on the series. There are so
many unanswered questions that need
closure in Reached, I can’t wait to finish
the series.
1/18 Reached 140 Finished 😊 (Page: 512) This is undoubtedly one of my favorite
Condie series! I was thrilled that the characters
experienced a happy ending, I felt so
connected to them after reading the
book.

Roth insecurities and betrayal. I have now
been reading more dystopians and
would consider them my current
favorite genre.
1/26 Insurgent 120 Finished 😊 (Page: 525) The book ended in a cliffhanger for
Roth Alliegiant! Roth really was able to
incorporate other elements of the
character’s personality traits in the face
of adversity, and I was able to
reinterpret their personalities as a
reader.
1/30 Alliegiant 120 Finished 😊 (Page: 526) Although the trilogy went through a
Roth morbid ending, I stIll enjoyed the

rebelion, and betrayal within the series.
Never before would I expected science
fiction to be coupled with the
philisophical ideas of loss.

had an added layer of suspense
because the events take place in nearby
Flemington, NJ.

Cass one! I typically associate royal
romances with archaic monarchs, but
the post-World War III aspect add an
additional dimension that makes for an
even more obsessed reader!
2/8 The Elite 160 Finished 😊 (Page: 323) Often times I feel that an author just
Cass creates a sequel for the sake of making
more money- but this book was equally
as engrossing as the first!
2/10 The One 160 Finished 😊 (Page: 323) If I were to describe this book with a
Cass simple phrase it would be a love song in
a bottle. It was a feel good novel of it’s
own class.

Cass the narrator, the cliffhanger at the end

Russo featured lots of pressing issues in the
news recently.
3/15 One of Us is Lying 200 Finished 😊 (Page: 281) I typically am not a fan of mysteries

be different if America adopted the

What do you notice about yourself as a reader?

As a reader, I like to read all genres. I always find enjoyment in books, or enough so to seek the conclusion, yet struggle to appreciate the
outlandishness of fantasy. I most enjoy philosophical, tragic books with suspenseful plotlines. My ideal reading spot is the beach, but in practicality I
most often read myself to sleep. I rarely read sequels, trilogies, or series, rather read singular books that interest me that are written by a variety of
authors.
