Memorandum
This is to inform you regarding your project in Reading and Writing Skills which is to create a cover letter and a
resume as a reference for your Work Immersion in Grade 12.
Please follow the format in creating the said project:
1. Typewritten in short bond papers.
2. Font size: 12
3. Font style: Times New Roman or Arial
4. Margin: Normal 1’’ all sides
5. Cover letter: Block Style
6. Resume’s picture – size 2x2; formal; white background
The date of submission is on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Failure to submit on the given deadline will not be
accepted nor entertained unless provided by an excuse letter.
The said project will be used in Work Immersion interview to be facilitated by your Oral Communication
teacher.

PRACTICE
Group Activity: Each group should have five members and ask them to create a Memorandum. Assign
the following topics to each group: the created memos will be posted in the classroom
Tardiness and Absences (reminders, consensus agreement)
School uniform- wearing of socks(female)
Class custodian/Cleaners responsibilities
Handbook’s acknowledgment form
Retreat (reminders to subject teachers)
Financial obligations reminders (tuition)
ENRICHMENT
Additional tips in writing a memorandum (Guffey,2017)
Set one tab to align entries evenly after the Subject.
Type the subject line in all caps or capitalize the initial letters of principal words.
Leave 1 0r 2 blank lines after the subject line.
Single-space all but the shortest memos. Double-space between paragraphs.
For full-page memos on plain paper, leave a 2-inch top margin.
Use 1.25-inch side margins.
For a two-page memo, use a second page heading with the addressee’s name, page number, and date.
Handwrite your initials after your typed name.
Place bulleted or numbered lists flush left or indent them 0.5 inches
