YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT IN SCHOOLS ORGANIZATION (YES – O) DIVISION CAMP

1. This Office announces the conduct of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization
(YES-O) Division Camp on February 13-15, 2019 at Isabela National High School, Isabela,
Negros Occidental.

2. With the theme, #Kabataan Nagkakaisa Para Sa Kalikasan, the Division YES-O Camp seeks
to achieve the following objectives:

a. Develop students’ deeper awareness on the state of the environment, focusing on


significant issues and concerns;
b. Encourage students’ active participation and determined concrete action in the
protection, preservation and rehabilitation of the environment;
c. Instill environmental values in every student to motivate actual involvement in
worthwhile programs, projects and activities for the environment; and
d. Strengthen the implementation of the YES-O Program pursuant to DepED Order No.
52, s. 2011 entitled Strengthening Environmental Education in Public and Private
Schools and DepEd Order No. 93, s. 2011 entitled Mandated Programs, Projects
and Activities, Various Forms, and Targets Pertinent to the Youth for Environment
in Schools Program.

3. Activities to be conducted during the camp are indicated in the enclosed Schedule of
Activities (Attachment C).

4. Participants to the camp are the members, officers and advisers of YES – O, and other
interested students and teachers, and organizations that implement environmental
programs, projects and activities.

5. The Mechanics and Criteria of the different events during the camp are also enclosed in this
memorandum (Attachment D).
6. A registration fee of PhP 200.00 shall be collected from all student participants, both
contestants and campers to defray the expenses that will be incurred. The fee will not cover
the meals of the participants, including that of the advisers.

7. The fee shall be paid to the Youth Formation Officers at the Division Office on or before
February 1, 2019 or to the Registration Committee at Isabela National High School on
February 13, 2019. Acknowledgment receipt shall be issued upon payment. Meanwhile, no
registration fee shall be collected from teacher-advisers.

8. Food concessionaires will be available to cater. Cooking inside the school campus shall be
strictly prohibited.

9. Registration fee, travel and other incidental expenses of the student participants shall be
charged to YES-O Funds, PTA Funds, and/or other local funds, while travel, food and other
incidental expenses of the advisers shall be charged to the school MOOE and/or other local
funds subject to availability and the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

10. In order to augment the funds to be used for the camp expenses, the school YES – O is
allowed to conduct a fund-raising activity within the school premises subject to the rules and
regulations of the school, as mandated by DO 52, s. 2011.

11. All school authorities including the advisers and chaperones shall strictly comply with all the
provisions of DepEd Order No. 66, s. 2017 otherwise known as the Implementing Guidelines
on the Conduct of Off-Campus Activities to ensure the safety and security of the participants,
the advisers and the chaperones.

12. Furthermore, prior to the conduct of the camp, all student participants shall be required to
submit a completed and signed Parent’s/Guardian’s Consent Form (Attachment A) to their
advisers, while advisers shall ensure that all participants fill out a manifest in triplicate
(Attachment B) before leaving their school premises.

13. The host school, Isabela National High School, shall submit an accomplishment report to the
School Governance and Operations Division – Youth Formation Program after the conduct
of the camp.
